5.0 out of 5 stars Dave Moore's latest CD grows on you.
After listening to "Breaking Down to 3" a few times, I couldn't get Dave Moore's songs out of my head. He has a gift for writing quiet and very meaningful songs about love, loss and life in general. My favorites include "Mr. Music," "Big Drafty House," and the heartbreaking "All the Time in the World. Fans of James McMurtry or...

3.0 out of 5 stars Good Writing
I have just recently started listening to Dave Moore.I find this cd quite interesting for a number of reasons. In Sharks dont sleep it sounds like a nice riff from a dire straits tune in the electric guitar work.In much of the singing I could have sworn I was listening to John Stewart of Kingston Trio and latterly California Bloodlines fame. The writing is really quite...

My favorites include "Mr. Music," "Big Drafty House," and the heartbreaking "All the Time in the World. Fans of James McMurtry or Richard Buckner would warm to Moore, and he can be a lot more cheerful, too. A real find.

The writing is really quite intimate (Big Drafty House,Painting this Room) but not maudlin or so personal it should have stayed home.I am really enjoying this cd and suggest it to anyone who is in search of good songwriters.

5.0 out of 5 stars Dave Moore is a must!, January 3, 2000

Two years ago, Dave agreed to play for my graduation party after I received my degree. I will never forget that day. I have been listening and have seen Dave play live for the past ten years. The man has been given the talent to turn a noisy coffeehouse into a dead quiet sanctuary with his voice and guitar alone. Anyone buying any (or all) of his three albums will NEVER regret it.

5.0 out of 5 stars straight-from-the-heart songs of life, loss and love, August 30, 1999

Dave Moore's newest release is honest and true to the music. It is what he knows. This record (which listens like a book) delivers an over magical feel without any of the hype. Bo Ramsey on guitar, Dave Zollo on piano, Rick Cicalo on bass and Steve Hayes on drums intuitively and beautifully back up Dave in a way that no other band could. "Breaking Down to 3" is an intimate story told with a tantalizing mixture of good old Iowa roots rock and blues, with a bit of old time folk. Amazing. I love it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Underestimated Musical Genius, September 15, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Breaking Down to 3 (Audio CD)
This album is fantastic. It is full of moving lyrics, great musicians and beautiful songs. Moore writes lyrics that are clear and strait to the heart. I do not go more that a week with out listening to this album. I hope that Moore continues to produce the high quality music that he has in the past. I also hope that everyone that listens to his music and enjoys his albums will pass the album on to atleast two people, so that Moore's talent will begin to be known about.

I have to admit until a few weeks ago I had never heard of Dave Moore but I was browsing through 'Amazons' massive store of CD's and came across the album 'Breaking Down to 3' "wow" I was moved - I've been collecting music for more years than I wish to remember and I don't know how I've missed DM - but I knew I had to have a copy of this CD - I now have a copy and boy I can't stop playing it - it really is a wonderful collection of songs, beautifully performed and accompanied by superb music played by excellent musicians (I don't know them but they sound great)- if you like cool folksy music I would say - go get it

Amazon Verified Purchase I have just started walking for exercise again. I'm looking for music for my walkman that peps me up and gets me going. The music had a nice beat, Dave Moore's voice and lyrics are great as well. I'm walkin' and rockin. Pam Vorce
