Heartland: My Favorite Books, January 13, 2001
This review is from: Breaking Free (Heartland #3) (Paperback)
All the Heartland books are AWESOME. I am now doing a book report on the first three, maybe four if I can get Taking Chances in time. If you haven't read these books before, they are about a fifteen year old girl, Amy Fleming, who has had a tough life yet has persevered through it. In the first book, Amy brings her mother out in a storm to resuce a horse who was abandoned by his owners. After they get Spartan in the trailer and are heading back, a tree hits their truck, killing her mom. In the rest of the books, you learn how Amy copes with her moms work, healing horses, saving Heartland, putting up with her sister, Lou, and stopping Ty from leaving after so long. So, If you like horses, or even the Chicken Soup books, I would recommend these wonderful books!

Touching, and True to Life, October 21, 2000
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Breaking Free (Heartland #3) (Paperback)
Business has been slow at Heartland. But Amy forgets that when Pegusus, the last thing of her old life, get's sick. Lou has some good ideas to help raise the business, but is Amy ready for more of Lou's new ideas? When she picks up Promise, a saddle-shy Arabian mare from a prestigious Arabian breeder, Amy begins to doubt her own abilities. Between School, Promise, and Pegusus, Amy learns how to restore Heartland, and heal her own heart. Breaking Free touched me, and stayed true to life in everything it wrote of. If we just LISTEN. . . we can hear a lot.

Heartland books are great. Even though this one was really sad, it was also really interesting, and you learned a lot about how they heal the horses. I really hope that Lou contacts their Dad, would love to see him in the next book, though it would make some of them really sad and emotional. (But isn't that how all the other books have been? They're all sad.) Anyway, I loved the book and recomend it to any horselover like myself.
