Book Description

One book saves one life.

Find out below how all profits from every purchase of this book saves another person's life.

Has your life turned out exactly as planned?

When you were younger did you have dreams of being a rockstar?

...a fireman?

...a doctor?

Who did you want to be before the world told you who you should be?

When we're born, we enter a world full of systems, most of which are out of our control. There are tons of unwritten rules and social pressures we feel forced to follow.

We're pressured to:

- study hard and get good grades

- get accepted and attend college

- graduate and find a secure job

- get married and start a family

We're trained not to stray too far from the path.

If we follow this recommended path, why do we still feel that we're missing something?

In Breaking Out of a Broken System, Seth & Chandler Bolt give you the tools to re-draw the lines, chart new roads, and expand the borders around your life.

Each of the brothers writes a totally different perspective on the 15 most important life lessons taught by their parents. These are things they thought everyone learned growing up, but they realized otherwise after going out into the "real world".

As you read, you'll have the option to read two completely different perspectives on each life lesson.

You can start with the artistic account written by Seth, bass player for the southern rock band NEEDTOBREATHE.

Dive into Chandler's entrepreneurial story told from the perspective of the younger brother.

There are two major benefits that will manifest from reading these intriguing tales. First, your life will gain a fresh new outlook on how blazing new trails can be the perfect addition to your own path.

And secondly, you'll be saving someone else's life.

Each book sold saves a life by providing a life-saving malaria pill (#1book1life).

Each year, 1.2 million people die from malaria. This is solely because many villages only receive 3-4 months worth of pills per year to cure the disease.

Our mission with the "Breaking Out of a Broken System" book launch is to buy 10,000 life-saving malaria pills by selling 10,000 copies of the book.

Buy this book, change your life. Buy this book, save another.

Buy the book during launch week to get tons of free stuff & a chance to win the trip of lifetime to Uganda! (See the first page in the preview for details)

Editorial Reviews

"The BoltBros have written an inspiring book full of clear and energetic wisdom about how to create a life rather than have it happen to you. This is Rage Against the Machine meets Dave Ramsey at its finest (You just don't see that combo often). This should be required reading for every high schooler-or college student-or anybody working a job they don't enjoy. There ought to be stacks of this book in the offices of school counselors, youth pastors, and academic advisors. The sections on money are especially striking in how they show what a healthy understanding of finance and generosity looks like."
Rob Bell-  Pastor, innovative teacher and New York Times best selling author of Love Wins
"As a father of five, I've really enjoyed reading this book! It has not only helped me to learn some valuable life lessons and tips, it has also encouraged me in new ways to inspire my children! A GREAT book about lessons learned from loving parents that help their children to live more productive lives and to chase their dreams."
Mac Powell-  Vocalist for Third Day
"This book is a cup of cool water on a long run. Seth and Chandler don't give you a map for success in this book, they let us eavesdrop on a great conversation they're having about what they've learned."
Bob Goff-  New York Times best selling author of Love Does
"Not just another self-help book. Funny, entertaining and brilliant! A must-read."
Chip Conley- New York Times best selling author of Emotional Equations: Simple Truths for Creating Happiness + Success

About the Author

Seth Bolt
Seth is a musician, producer, recording artist & entrepreneur. His passion for music led him to build a recording studio, Plantation Studios, where he began recording and producing records at age 16.
After earning a degree in recording engineering from Full Sail University, he began touring with his band, NEEDTOBREATHE; the band signed with Atlantic Records/Lava Records in 2005.
Since then, they have recorded 5 albums, won 10 GMA Dove awards (including Group of the Year, Recorded Song of the Year, and Album of the Year), toured with Taylor Swift, and performed at Bonnaroo.
Seth has continued his work in the studio helping other young artists achieve their dreams. He is also active in a number of charitable organizations including the Imagination Foundation and Palmetto Medical Initiative.
Much of Seth's art and charity work revolves around encouragement through story telling; empowering others to create a life full of purpose by seeking and serving something bigger than themselves.

Chandler Bolt
After a near miscarriage by his mom before birth and an action packed entrance into the world, Chandler grew up as a rebellious adventure seeker in a small town.
Chandler was bitten by the entrepreneurial bug at an early age when he saw that he could make a lot more money working for himself. While his friends were off searching for jobs, he was out starting businesses.
He began early (age 11) by selling his personal snacks at scout camp and, by age 17 he hired his friends to help him operate his landscaping business that earned him $10,000 for college. All in all, by age 20 he started and ran over $320,000 in businesses.
During this time, he taught other college students how to run their own successful businesses and received the "Entrepreneur of the Year" award from Young Entrepreneurs Across America. Chandler also co-wrote the #1 Time Management book The Productive Person

5.0 out of 5 stars When normal just doesn't cut it. March 3, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
I’ve read a lot of self help books to gain insight on how to better approach my dreams and ambitions. The problem is most of us reading self help, how-to books are reading them because a normal approach doesn’t coincide with who we are and how we function in the first place.

This is why I truly enjoyed and absorbed what the authors did with Breaking out of a Broken System. This is book is anything but normal. It’s a friendly A.D.D. read and practical approach for someone like me who has a hard time following the standard approaches for above standard goals. It’s unlike anything else out there.

I encourage anyone who tends to get distracted or gets discouraged easily from the confines of normalcy to grab a copy and get inspired to break out and break free. It’s about time we see that a life we’ve dreamt of living can become a reality.

5.0 out of 5 stars WISH I READ THIS WHEN I WAS YOUNGER March 3, 2014
By Windy
Format:Kindle Edition
At first I was hesitant about reading this book, after all what does a bassist with long hair and a young man know about life and success. However, after reading the first chapter I was hooked! These two know about success because they have and are living it! They don't shove useless information down your throat, but instead, share their lives and the steps they applied themselves to become who they are today. By far one of the most informative reads that include sound advice and humor. Great job Bolt's and great read!

5.0 out of 5 stars Important messages presented in a fun way March 3, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
Never have important lessons about putting in a hard day’s work, choosing your friends wisely and managing your money been told in such an engaging and entertaining way. Breaking Out of a Broken System by brothers Seth and Chandler Bolt, is an off-beat take on how to live a life full of purpose, learn from mistakes and bless others along the way.

And they’re not just telling the reader about the joy of giving—they’re setting a strong example by donating all of the proceeds from this book to the Palmetto Medical Initiative to buy life-saving malaria pills for people in developing countries.

Whether you’re in need of some encouragement or looking for ways to encourage others, this book is the perfect blend of inspiration, story-telling and stick-figure drawings that will make you smile.

5.0 out of 5 stars Inspiring! March 3, 2014
By rachael
Format:Kindle Edition
I have never been able to relate to any kind of "self help book" until I got my hands on this one!

I found it extremely motivating and it is exactly what I needed in this time in my life. (Not to mention, it's for a great cause.)

The Bolt Bros. really know how to inspire you to be a better human.

5.0 out of 5 stars A game-changer of a book. March 4, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
My first reading of the book was to see if it was a good fit to give to a few thousand 9th and 10th graders entering a scholarship program. The answer to that was a resounding YES. This book gives information, insight and inspiration that is accessible to a youth audience. The information and lessons are shared in a relatable and easy to read fashion with interesting graphics and flash-back stories that bring the reader right in to focus on the important points. The most influential part: it's embracing the following of dreams in a real-life and actionable way.

Then I read the book again- without my "this is for someone else" hat on - as a person out there on the hamster wheel (we all have one) each day it gave me some glimpses to a life that I once dreamt of and the motivation to visit those ideas more - to try to bring that life closer in to focus and a part of my reality. In short: I loved it - it inspired me and I've got highlighted parts I'm re-reading regularly. Make sure to use the highlight tool in the Kindle edition - I found that really helpful to go back to.

Quick read, easy to get through and accessible throughout.

4.0 out of 5 stars Unexpected Surprise March 4, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I wasn't sure what to expect when I first got a hold of this book. What did a musician and a 20 yr old kid have to teach me about life?

Once I started to read I was blown away. I've read books like this before and they often come across as preachy and "I have this figured out, why don't you?". This book is none of those. It's funny, moving, challenging and mostly just plain genuine. If you met the Bolt Brothers after reading this book you would feel like you were already friends, as this book comes across like you were having an unfiltered conversation with both of them.

The idea to have the book split into two sections with the different visual approaches, one coming from Seth's point of view and the other from Chandler's is genius, the creative v the entrepreneurial. You can definitely feel their different personalities come across in the writing styles and 'voice'. Had it been in tandem it might have felt more overwhelming, like you were being spoken to and less conversational. Instead you get the same ideas from different vantage points, and after reading both sections, the ideas felt reiterated rather than repetitive.

I can't tell you what you're going to get out of reading this book, it will completely depend on your life and situation. I was inspired, Challenged and moved to action. What I DO know is that this book will save a life, maybe yours will be changed from it, but definitely someone else's will be saved. 100% of the Profits are going to Charity to supply Malaria pills via Palmetto Medical Initiative, 1 pill can save 1 life and that's why I'll be getting more than one copy.
