Long-overdue destigmatization,

This is a fantastic book. Dr. Borelli's chapter on sibling mental illness is especially noteworthy. It is (at once) gripping, frightening, and illuminating. It is also extraordinarily brave.

This review is from: Breaking the Silence: Mental Health Professionals Disclose Their Personal and Family Experiences of Mental Illness (Hardcover)
This is the most powerful book I have read on stigma in mental illness. The power of personal disclosure by professionals who work in the field was stirring. I have worked in this field for over for 38 years and I was amazed at how much it affected me. I had to take my time to read each story. Sometimes , I had to take a break because it was so intense. But I always went back to find out the endof the story. It is difficult to learn emotionally from cognitive formats, but I learned a lot from my own responses. Profound!
