WOOOO!!!! Mitch Ryder rocks!! I'm from Motown, so I'm pretty proud of our music. It's vinyl....it's old....and it was in perfect condition. I am one happy motown girl!

Quintessential Detroit 60's rock and soul,

Any fan of mid 60's rock and soul, or lover of the Detroit rock sound will appreciate this recording. It is gritty, soulful, earnest and has top notch musicianship. In Detroit at the time, it influenced the likes of the MC5, Iggy and the Bob Seger System with it's raw energy. A must have for R&B, soul and R&R lovers.

This was the second album by Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels. It features their biggest hit, "Devil With a Blue Dress On"; another hit, "Little Latin Lupe Lu"; and a should-have-been-a-hit, "Breakout". The b-sides of these songs also appear on the album. The rest of the songs on the album are covers of recent R&B hits by the likes of Rufus Thomas, Wilson Pickett, Chris Kenner, The Isley Brothers, Marvin Gaye and Chuck Jackson. Mitch and the boys do a decent job on most of these songs, but they usually don't come close to matching the original hit versions. The sole exception is "Shakin' With Linda", which surpasses the Isley Brothers version (originally titled "Twistin' With Linda"), in my opinion. This is a decent album, but most people would probably prefer to get a Mitch Ryder "hits" CD.
