5.0 out of 5 stars Must-Read!!, January 20, 2003
By
Muriel Haase (Mt. Prospect, IL USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Breakthrough (Paperback)
This intelligent and enlightening book is a must-read for Catholics and non-Catholics alike. It's an autobiographical story of one nun's struggle to help implement much needed changes in the institutional church. The author's feelings come through in a compelling way, especially the love she felt for a priest with whom home she worked for twenty years. The trials and indignities both had to endure puts the religious orders and the church on trial. Lovingly, compassionately written. It made me weep.

5.0 out of 5 stars Breakthrough by Marsha Malone, January 19, 2003

This review is from: Breakthrough (Paperback)
This book is beautifully written, an eye-opener....a terrifically told story about a dedicated nun, who for over 30 years fought in a Christian way to bring about needed changes in the church. It's also a beautiful love story detailing the emotions and pain she experienced because she feel in love with a wonderful, dedicated priest. Their story is beautiful, heartwrenching and a must-read. Marsha Malone documents the narrow perceptions of the Vatican, and the need for change. Bravo for Marsha Malone for calling the insincerity and hypocrisy of the institutional church to catholics and non-catholics alike. Her book should be featured on the O'reilly Factor or Oprah, where itwould get the attention it deserves.
