5.0 out of 5 stars Lots of great new netowrking ideas!, December 22, 1999
By
Juli Bridgers (Chicago, Illinois) - See all my reviews
Lillian Bjorseth gives you more than just "tired and true" networking tips. What's more, the author helps you understand how and why networking works in both business and interpersonal relationships, and provides real insight about interacting with one another. Her background and experience in personal and corporate communications is quite apparent in the knowledge and advice she shares with the reader through the pages of "Breakthrough Networking." I picked up quite a few new ideas and have used them to build my own network of contacts increase my client base and expand my market. No matter what business you're in, this book can help you uncover new business and customers. Bjorseth's book should be right up there on the bookshelf with all your other business reference books!

4.0 out of 5 stars the book to read, August 28, 2002
By A Customer
The techniques in this book were business saving. I have read several books on networking but I found them all repetative and unexciting. Lillain D. Bjorseth finds a new and novel approach to marketing that is smart and efective. The other book that I depend on for my business was Guerrilla PR Wired by Michael Levine. That book showed me everything I needed to successfully promote my business and with Breakthrough Networking I find I have confidence and business savy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Breakthrough Networking, August 11, 2000

What an incredible book! I couldn't put it down. As the President/CEO of EmpowerMag.com, I get 5-6 books a week and usually only have time to scan through them. But, Breakthrough Networking I could not put down! The information Lillian offers is so practical and so helpful, she has earned the title as "The Queen of Networking."

I am honored that Lillian Bjorseth is coming to the ePages of EmpowerMag.com in October with The Queen of Networking column.

5.0 out of 5 stars Primer Plus More for Effective Nerworking & Marketing, July 14, 2009
Lillian Bjorseth's book, Breakthrough Networking: Building Relationships That Last, has been part of my practice for many years. Her third edition fine tunes what was already a great book.

Success in sales begins with first getting someone's attention and then building the relationship. How to do this is exactly what Lillian shares from the tiny nuances of body language to securing testimonials.

With the ongoing lack of professionalism and just plain etiquette, this is a must read basic and then some primer for anyone who wishes to take her or his business or sales results to that next level.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good Networking Advice - Well Presented, May 12, 2009
This review is from: Breakthrough Networking: Building Relationships That Last, Second Edition (Paperback)
The best thing I can say about this book is that after reading through it quickly initially, I have over the past few weeks dipped into it on a regular basis while preparing for my next network or business meeting. It is a very useful tool for anyone serious about networking (and who is not in this environment?)
Bjorseth provides good solid commonsense ideas on how to be an effective networker.
Her comments on VBC (that's Verbal Business Card) to you and me have helped me craft a much tighter, more impactful verbal pitch. The author makes it very clear that networking is not something to be taken lightly. Good networking results come from being prepared in what you say, how you say it and how you plan to say it.
Way better than most networking books I've read.
