This video is a great expansion on how to ski the bumps. Lito is a gifted instructor and the video actually shows you how to ski the bumps, as opposed to most ski instructors who just tell you to "do what I do" when you can't tell the subtle things they are doing to be successful.

decent for bumps, better for powder, overall disappointing,

Lito's has a very "friendly" teaching style, but I have several major complaints about this DVD:
1. I don't think Lito's that good of a bump skier. If you're looking for a video to help with visualization, this is not the one for you. He has a minute or two of footage from other (excellent) bump skiers, but most of the skiing is from him, and he's an average bump skiier. As he says in the DVD, he's had an ACL repaired, and he's over 50 years old, so it's you're looking for the fast, tight, balanced technique of pro mogul skiers (as I was hoping), look elsewhere. 2. There are numerous ways to ski the bumps. Lito primarily only covers two of them: in the trough, and over the shoulder. He covers both of these in relation to speed control and picking a line. 3. Lito touches only briefly about "picking a line" when bump skiing, and he doesn't give any tips for this crucial step. This is one technique that is difficult to master, and I would've liked more tips. There were some nice parts of this DVD: 1. The content & instruction was well organized. 2. Discussion of anticipation, and some drills for how to do anticipated turns 3. Powder tips: extension of legs into the snow to complete the turn; also use of arm lifting "trick" to equalize weight in heavy powder. 4. Some beautiful powder skiing pictures. 5. Lito has a very friendly, well-paced teaching style. Oh, well off to look elsewhere for a more ultimate bump/mogul DVD. I would really love to find a Sybervision video for bumps/moguls.

I have watched many videos focused on moguls. I have never seen such a detailed analysis of skiing bumps. Because of that, this video is not only suitible for the intermediate bump skiing. Even expert bump skiers will gain a new perspective on how to tackle moguls. However, even though Lito goes into more detail about mogul skiing then almost all other instructional videos on moguls, I don't even consider that to be the greatest strength of the video. I have seen many instructors go into detail about the bumps, but will almost immediately lose the skier with too much detail or complex terminology. Not so for Lito, he is the only person I have seen who can explain each detail with such simplicity and yet not foresaking any of the complexities. Many have tried to explain the bumps, but Lito is one of the few who knows how to make it comprehensible to all skiers

This is the first ski video I ever bought. I liked this video so much that I decided to get the 'BreakThrough On Skis I' as well. I consider myself an intermediate skier. I am fairly good when no bumps and powder are around, although I'm helpless when I have to face bumps and when the slopes start turning challenging. I took a real life lesson on bumps and the instructor was completely worthless. Lito teaches you different levels of bump skiing and tricks to face them. Starting up on smaller ones and moving gradually on to more difficult and challenging ones. With Lito's video you can get a very clear idea of what bumps to attack first, rather than jumping straight into real challenging ones. Now I have a very clear idea of what to do when I have to face this challenging terrain.

I found this DVD to be very helpful in taking my skiing to the next level, especially in the powder. As the DVD tells you, powder really requires a different technique and this DVD shows you the way. With the price of a ski lesson as much as it is today, this is money well spent!

This video is a great follow up to the Breakthrough on Skiing I and III.
while the first video in the series and the third really shows you how ski down the mountain, this one will make you feel more comfortable and learn some basic techniques for approaching bumps (moguls) and powder skiing. I'm not suggesting that the video will make you an expert but it will definitely make you feel more comfortable in both of the above mentioned situation. After just two viewing of the video I was able to approach the bumps and powder with much more confidence so that I could develop my skills and become a better more aggressive skier. This is a very mellow approach to skiing. The scenery is beautiful and the music in the video is very relaxing. Well worth watching and you will learn a lot too.

I enjoyed this video. The visual demonstrations help me. I hesitated to buy this because it was created way back in 1995 and I thought it might be out of date--but it isn't. I have skied off and on for 30 years and I just took a 3 days class on bumps. What he covers in the tape, was the same as in my class and it served to reinforce what I learned. True, as the title says, it is "simplified" down to the basics. So don't expect a lot of complicated techniques. If you like learning visually, it is very pleasant. If you already are skiing bumps without problems, then don't bother.

I take these out every time there is a powder day. Lito gives lots of good pointers for powder and bumps. They've helped me a lot and cost less than a live lesson. Now - if I can only get more powder days.
