I LOVE THIS BOOK!,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Breakup Diary (Paperback)
My copy of The Breakup Diary just arrived yesterday and I LOVE IT! I stayed up until 2 o'clock in the morning doing the exercises and I couldn't wait to get back to them today. I swear, it's like I have a therapist sitting right on my table just waiting for me to "talk to." I'm buying two more copies to keep on hand for friends. I've kept journals after breakups, but always sort of wrote all over the place. Never pinpointing specific problems to help me find solutions. This nails the problems on the head and really helps you open your heart and let it all out. Great idea. Great book. Highly recommended. If I could give it 10 stars, I would!

Makes My Job Easier,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Breakup Diary (Paperback)
I'm a therapist who was presented with a copy of The Breakup Diary by one of my patients. She told me she wanted to use it as a template for our discussions. I took it home, looked over the exercises, and was surprised that this book was written by a comedian. The exercises were actually very helpful. Coupled with therapy, this book really helped my patient get over her Ex. I have since purchased 25 copies to give to my patients who were going through similar problems. I really recommend this book. It's light and funny but a very helpful read. - Dr. MGB

Viva La Breakup,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Breakup Diary (Paperback)
Here's how The Breakup Diary helped me...I recently flew to France, from the United States, to meet with my boyfriend who has been there for the past year on business. To make a VERY long story short, a day after arriving I found a woman's hair tie in the bathroom under the sink! After questioning him about it, he finally fessed up to the fact that he had been seeing someone for the past seven months. He wanted to "wait until we saw each other in person to tell me." Sweet, huh? Thousands of miles away from home...and I was being DUMPED! A friend of mine picked me up from the airport when I arrived back in the states, with a copy of the Breakup Diary for me to read. I spent the next month faithfully writing in this journal, until I finally felt good enough to start going out again and meeting people. I'm not quite at 100% yet, but I feel a lot better than I did before. I recommend this book highly to anyone who is going through what I just did. It's not a cure-all, but it gets you thinking in the right direction.

Humor Helps,
By "mrkh62" (Denver, CO) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Breakup Diary (Paperback)
I thought that book was very helpful. It added humor to a sad situation...and was not insulting because the advice wasn't from someone who was suppose to uplift your spirts (like your best friend or mom). Lisa's workbook approach encourages you to write everything out - which in turn, makes you really THINK through the relationship, work through your feelings and put you onto the path of recovery (without expensive therapy bills)!

A Fun Way To Get Over Your Ex,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Breakup Diary (Paperback)
If you're looking for a unique way to get over your Ex, I highly recommend The Breakup Diary. Instead of being a book filled with lots of text, it's a guided journal that will help you get over your Ex YOURSELF. I especially liked the chapter "Make Your Own Voodoo Doll!" It's the perfect book to be used in conjunction with other books to help you get through the pain. It really got me thinking about things I would have never thought about otherwise. If you're not going through a breakup yourself, it's a good book to give to a friend as a gift. This, and the book, How To Survive The Loss Of A Love, were my saviours! I know they'll help you, too!

Two Thumbs Up!,
By Donna Arlene Wudyka (Detroit, Michigan) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Breakup Diary (Paperback)
What an outstanding guided journal. Breakups can be traumatic at times. However, if you read The Breakup Diary and follow Lisa's guidelines that she presented to you, chances it will help you overcome your breakup. Lisa did a wonderful job on preparing this book. Lisa has a great sense of humor and she displays her humor, instead of pain to overcome a bad relationship. This book is a must for anyone going through a Breakup. Lisa, I'm proud of you. You Go Girl!!! Good Luck, I wish you much success with The Breakup Diary...

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: The Breakup Diary (Paperback)
This book is amazingly simple...I could have thought of it myself...had I not just been dumped and thinking about little else. The exercises are simple, yet helpful. It allows you to vent your feelings without doing anything stupid, humilitating yourself and making the situation worse. I'd recommend it to anyone who's been dumped and suffering a blow to their self-esteem

Lots of Help,

I read this and I really liked it. I think some of the humor was smart and helpful. I think a great companion to this is the BreakUp Workbook by the brokenheartedgirl website. Both really helped me get over my ex.
