Editorial Reviews

From Publishers Weekly

Knox, an experienced surgeon specializing in breast cancer, offers this sensible, matter-of-fact guide to care management for the recently diagnosed. Part one outlines the shock of the diagnosis, using many real-life case studies; carefully describes various methods of testing for breast cancer and shows readers how to assemble a team of doctors, friends and family members to help them through their treatment. (Throughout the book, sidebars suggest ways loved ones can be helpful without being intrusive or offering platitudes.) This section also features a chapter on trusting in "the great physician" and rejoicing in God despite physical circumstances. Part two highlights medical choices, including surgery, chemotherapy, radiation and hormone blocker therapy. The final section underscores the patient's complex emotions and relationships with family members.

5.0 out of 5 stars I trusted her with my LIFE!!, May 9, 2010
This review is from: The Breast Cancer Care Book: A Survival Guide for Patients and Loved Ones (Christian Medical Association Resources) (Paperback)
I was operated on my Dr. Sally Knox, the author of this book. She is incredibly capable and highly rated in this area. She performed a surgical biopsy on my breast after a suspicious mammogram. I met with her in her office before the surgery and then of course at the hospital before, during and after the surgery. This woman is a brilliant surgeon and someone that is caring and knowledgeable about all facets of breast cancer and breast care. This book is a great addition to your library and her information can be relied on in my opinion. The previous reviewer's rating seemed to be based on her purchase of this book outside of the amazon website and should not be taken as a commentary on the quality of this book and the information contained therein. Dr. Knox is a caring and supportive physician/surgeon. You can't go wrong buying this book.

This is the single best source for almost all aspects of this medical challenge. There is no finer reference and is mandatory for wife and husband.

1.0 out of 5 stars Seller sucked!, September 24, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: The Breast Cancer Care Book: A Survival Guide for Patients and Loved Ones (Christian Medical Association Resources) (Paperback)
I requested the book on 8/26/2009 and still have not received the product. The seller took no time at all, however, to accept the payment. I will never by a book from this vendor again and I hope you don't either.
