5.0 out of 5 stars I loved this book!, November 27, 2005

Oktay's book is a wonderful tribute to the daughters of breast cancer patients who have an opportunity to share their experiences of loss and personal growth as a result of having lived with a mother who experienced breast cancer. The information shared in the book is a result of an excellent qualitative study which provides us with a rare opportunity to understand the issues facing daughters of breast cancer patients. Since there are stories of women from various ages throughout the life cycle, any daughter of a breast cancer patient will benefit from reading it.

5.0 out of 5 stars I loved this book!, November 18, 2005

This book is full of stories--the stories of women whose mothers had breast cancer--30 stories that are extensively and movingly told. The introductory chapter describes the methods the author used--maybe that's all the further the negative revier ever read! This book is unique and invaluable in my opinion because it allows us to listen to daughters as they struggle to understand their mothers' illnesses as they move forward in their own lives. I've never read a book that does this, and I'm very grateful for it.

1.0 out of 5 stars Breast Cancer: Daughters Tell Their Stories, October 21, 2005
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This was not what I was expecting. I had hoped that it would tell me what the girls themselves thought throughout the process - it seemed to be much more statistical.
