About the Author

Peter s photographs have been seen on the walls of store boutiques, billboard campaigns, album covers of acclaimed artists, national and regional magazines, and received a 2011 International Award of Excellence for his portrait of a Haitian women shortly after the 2010 earthquake. His 2009 and 2010 breast cancer photo projects were featured on GetMarried website and the Grace Ormonde blog.  Peter's photographs of the humanity and hope of the Haitian people left behind after the 2010 earthquake are preserved in his book Haiti's Hope. His second book, To Have & To Hold: a Life for Generations, features the stories of 12 women who were affected by breast cancer during a fashion shoot along with fast cars, helicopters and a private jet. Peter's personal mission statement is "Live a life that will make your grandchildren proud." This is vital because no matter one's passion or dreams, one's legacy should be clearly seen for generations.  Peter, his wife Genevieve, and their son Ezra make their home outside Atlanta, Georgia.

I love the diversity in this book, and the fact that the "stories" have not been edited. They appear in their original form, some handwritten, many with scribbles or doodles, and many with heartwrenching details. Breast cancer doesn't pick and choose, and this book is a wonderful example of different survivors - old, young, fat, thin, scared and brave. I am surprised that some of the photos have been "photo-shopped." I don't think that was necessary. I am included in the book, and I would have preferred to have had all my wrinkles in my photo.

I hope that readers will enjoy the stories, and that women (and men) going through this horrid ailment will be encouraged that you can come out on the other side of the tunnel more or less in one piece.

Peter is fun and entertaining. The book is a brilliant idea and I hope will be available in many medical waiting rooms.

This book is beautifully done and reading the words from the Survivors is so inspiring! Being a Survivor myself, I think it is a wonderful book to have out on my coffee table for others to enjoy as well. Well done Peter!
