MammaCare is the scientifically validated method of breast self-examination created with the support of the National Cancer Institute. Accurate breast self-examination means learning what to feel for. Watching a video or reading a pamphlet is simply not enough. Because breast examination is a tactile skill that depends on trained fingers, MammaCare produced an affordable NEW Personal Learning System to train the sense of touch on a lifelike breast model. The model simulates the feeling of normal nodular breast tissue and suspicious tumors. Research demonstrates that fingers can detect suspicious simulated breast tumors small as 3 millimeters (smaller than a pea). MammaCare's new Learning System achieves peak sensitivity by practicing on a breast model so lifelike it has been used to calibrate mammography machines. Watching the DVD demonstration while practicing on the breast model builds effective tactile skills. The kit's DVD is available in English, Spanish, German, Japanese, Korean and Mandarin Chinese. The English DVD is available with open captions for women who are deaf or hard-of-hearing. The MammaCare Personal Learning System won a Merit Award for Health Promotion in the 2009 National Health Information Awards Program.

I live in Madison, Wisconsin, where medical care is superior but competent clinical breast examination remains a lost art. The MammaCare breast model trained my fingers so well that I now feel confident that I will not miss small changes in my breasts even if my doctor does. Thank you, MammaCare. All women should have this kit.

This is the best tool I have ever seen to help me get to know the geography and the changes in my breasts. I feel that if anything changes I will definitely know and be able to help save my own life. There is no one that cares about my life as much as I do and now I have a little control over at least one part of my medical well being. Thank you Mammacare.

No doctor is taking the time to explain to you how to palpate with such precision that you are able to feel the tiniest lump with this technique (0.3cm vs. only from 1cm when palpating with regular technique). That is why this system is so important. It takes practice, and the instructional DVD is all you need. VERY EXCELLENT product and highly recommended.
