Editorial Reviews

The band from Paganizer/Ribspreader mainman Rogga Johansson featuring the legendary Dan Swan” (Edge of Sanity/Nightingale/Infestdead) and Johan Berglund (This Haven) on drums/keyboards and bass respectively. Their material reaches from the most brutal old-school Swedish death metal to more groovy and dark territories and draws influences from bands like Entombed, Bolt Thrower, Satyricon and Sepultura. Produced and mixed at Dan Swan”'s legendary studio Unisound. The artwork was handled by Heiko Wagner. Rogga Johansson is one of the biggest talents in Swedish Death Metal and has bands like Paganizer and Carve to prove it. He was also a member of the latest line-up of Edge Of Sanity (the band of Dan Swan”) and recorded all the growling parts of Crimson II. Swan” and Rogga also worked together under the name Ribspreader.

Demiurg is the spawn of Paganizer/Ribspreader mainman Rogga Johansson. The band was conceived early 2006 and was initially meant to be another outlet of primitive death metal, the concept however evolved into something way more unique and exciting. Together with the obvious brutality and groove found in bands like Bolt Thrower, Grave or Edge of Sanity the material was also injected with more diverse ideas derived from the sound of bands like Satyricon and Sepultura thus creating something not entirely prone to be labeled old school Death Metal.

From the start of this project the legendary musician and producer Dan Swanö (Edge of Sanity/Nightingale) was enrolled to produce the debut album aswell as play the drums, which he also did on the album.

If you are a fan of Edge Of Sanity, Paganizer, Ribspreader and the other bands mentioned above. I'm sure you'll find the CD interesting. I just stumbled across them recently. I'm a big fan of almost ever Death Metal project. Dan Swano is involved in. I would suggest if your looking for something good to pick up and you don't find any of the new bands coming out exciting. Pick this up. The production and tones are awesome as expected. Enjoy!
