This item, in my opinion, is only any good for novelty purposes. It's fairly accurate in telling you whether you have ANY alcohol on your breath or not, but the reading is impressively and consistently wrong. I tend to get a max reading (.20) after half of one beer. I've also tried waiting one half hour, with absolutely no alcohol, juice, smoking (don't smoke anyhow), or any other of the multiple warnings it has for getting a false reading. Again, it will give me a max reading, regardless of what or how much alcohol I've had to drink prior to the test (typically 1 beer).

On the other side of the coin, I had a friend try it immediately after taking a shot (which should throw the reading off massively). His reading was 0.00.

But hey, it's fun to play with. I think, for a reliable breathalyzer, you'd have to go for a product in the price range of ~$100. "Wired" magazine had a good review on breathalyzers recently.

this is fun to have on a good night out. lots of fun. lol! not that accurate as the expensive ones but works... dont recomend to count on before driving! lol! satisfied!

This was "back-up" to prove a point and it worked. I left one with my son who is at college to so he could verify before letting guests leave. Everyone, so far, has understood the why of it.

Don't order this item, the first one I recieved didn't work so they sent me a replacement and it didn't work either. Waste of my time and money. And instead of refunding me they sent a replacement so now requesting refund which I am unsure I will get. DO NOT ORDER THIS ITEM. JUNK!!!!!!!!!

I purchased one of these at my local homebrew shop and barely got a month's of use out of it... First of all, it was extremely incosistent and one second would say that you were 0.00 and the next give you a reading, even though you had already had a few beers. It is not an item that I could trust and guess that is why I should just fork over some extra money on the next one that I buy (which is why I was on here looking at nicer ones and saw this) and get a better quality instrument. The button that you press on mine got stuck in the on position and no matter what I did I could not get it to depress; I finally decided to toss it as it definitely was not worth it. I would suggest to anyone looking at this item to look for a better quality one with good reviews, as I am currently doing; you don't want to trust yours and others lives on this item!

Only rated one star because I could not rate it 0. Took it out of the box, put batteries in it and it died. Will not work...

this thing accuracy is 0.03!!! so what is the use? it shows you nothing!!! according to the accuracy when it shows 0.06 the real number could be between 0.03 to 0.09.

Doesn't read very well at all. Bought it for fun but wasn't as accurate as I expected.

Pretty cool thing to have when you have people leaving your house after drinking, but it eats batteries like crazy. Make sure to buy extra batteries and take them out before storing because it will still eat your batteries even though it is sitting on a shelf, waiting for the next football game.

Analyzer when compared to units used by police the Wingman Z is withing +- 0.02 bac. Themometer is about 5.4 degrees F to high. 10 subjects were used in the testing of the wingman Z breatalizer. The unit does work well as a breathalyzer.
