4.0 out of 5 stars Lush mood music...
I bought this cd after getting a request to be a friend of the bands on myspace, and instantly fell in love with the emotive sound they have created. The cd is gorgeous. Once you put it on, you feel like you are falling through a gorgeous dream-like world filled with every sensual emotion known to man. The music is very reminiscent of Enigma, Delerium, Magna Canta,...

3.0 out of 5 stars Mixed
The first six cuts of this CD contain a somewhat piercing female voice, and are skip-able. From the seventh cut on, I enjoy it. The last cut, the fifteenth, is beautiful and fits the producer's description of "etherial."

4.0 out of 5 stars Lush mood music..., March 24, 2006

I bought this cd after getting a request to be a friend of the bands on myspace, and instantly fell in love with the emotive sound they have created. The cd is gorgeous. Once you put it on, you feel like you are falling through a gorgeous dream-like world filled with every sensual emotion known to man. The music is very reminiscent of Enigma, Delerium, Magna Canta, Amethystium, Lesiem and even a tiny bit of ERA! The cd is perfect for lovers of beautiful, ethereal mood music! This is one of the best albums to play late at night when you are relaxing, or to have on in the background while you read a book or try to de-stress from a hectic day. I find this cd very accomidating during cool-down sessions after exersizing, or to listen to at night before I go to sleep. It is a very beautiful album! Definetly pick this up if you are looking for something new to fill the void of Enigma or Delerium. You won't be dissapointed! I took ONE star off because I DO wish there were more lyrical vocals at times, but that is just me! I am a sucker for vocals!

I can't praise enough for this awesome album. Words fail me to describe how wonderful it is. The melody is so beautiful, the sound quality is so good, it moves me very time I play it. You really want to upgrade your audio system to truly appreciate it in my opinion.

If you like Ryan Farsh, Kitaro, Vangelis, etc, you will like Blue Stone. I can't wait for their next album .... !!!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars New Age, NOT anything like Enigma..., February 21, 2007
This review is from: Breathe (Audio CD)
Ok, first the good... This CD is very well done and the group is well developed in their sound. It is an excellent NEW AGE CD.

Now for the bad... This CD is NOT anything at all like Enigma. I think of groups like Achillea, Amethystium, Balligomingo, Conjure One, Deep Forest, Enigma, and Sacred Spirits as SPIRITUAL music.

Spiritual music by my classification is relaxing, soothing, and in some cases features a unique sound. It has a lot of electronic sounds in it, monks singing, beautiful female voices, and the occasional engaging male voice like Robbie Robertson in Music for the Native Americans or Michael Cretu in Enigma.

These groups and musicians are often and unfortunately lumped into the new age category. But new age music has much more guitar or piano work. Jim Brickman is a new age piano player. Yanni is new age. Any Windham Hill artist is new age. So on and so forth.

Why do I say Blue Stone is new age? Well in this CD at least there is a LOT of piano music - too much in fact. It overwhelms the spacey aspect of the music, the promising start, and it becomes new age music.

So if you're looking for some good New Age music buy this CD. If you want something spiritual look pick one of the Spiritual music artists I have listed above. If you specifically want something that sounds like Enigma, go for Achillea.

5.0 out of 5 stars Breathtaking Sensuality, March 5, 2007
This review is from: Breathe (Audio CD)
Blue Stone's ethereal paradise is sensual and spiritual with vocal labyrinths in which to wander like a mist seeping through stillness. This is music in which to lose yourself and every stress you imagined you had before you put on your headphones. The heights and the depths of this album are all completely satisfying. If you love Delerium, Sleepthief or Evening Ocean, I think you will sink into this album, turn up the volume and dissolve into the sensation of sound. Breathe is magical and sexy with sensual whispery lyrics rich with lush gothic and world music appeal.

4.0 out of 5 stars Breathe, March 9, 2007

Very nice compilation of relaxing but slightly sensual music. A couple of songs are little romantic and go with a nice candle lite dinner. Very nice I recommend it, kind of similar to Enigma.

5.0 out of 5 stars WOW! Simply trancendant!, May 25, 2006
This review is from: Breathe (Audio CD)
The debut release entitled "Breathe" by artist called Blue Stone is one of the best New Age albums that I've heard in years! I would even go as to say that it is even better than any of Amethystiums albums. "I Am" is heavenly and "Contact" is an eerie number that is destined to be a future classic!

Well! where to start. This album is just beautiful and has unforgettable songs. This musician has a vivid imagination for making such a beautiful music. Haunting keyboards melodied mixed with beautful female voices and nice pop ryhtms. All tracks are beautiful. Breathe starts and ends in styles. Breathe is about journey of love, lost love, inspiration and searching love, anf found love. It is journey of desire of heart and passion of the soul. Beautiful piano melodies along with dreamy and ambient touch which will take ur pain away and heal u up. Beautiful ambient songs with some magical and inspiration touch. Buy the Breathe and experience the journey.

this is one of my favorite CD's to teach with! It works with any level of practice, from very gentle, to very advanced! It does not take away from the focus one needs. I will definitely peruse other CD's by Blue Stone!

I should mention my music listening preferences, and if you should feel the same way, this could be a must-buy disc. I like many different types of music, from metal to classical, but the new age category / enigma-esque is a hard one for me to choose from. Many recommendations fall short of my expectations, because they are too trancy, with all the songs sounding like one big song with small pauses between tracks. You could say that I tend to fall toward more of the pop and technopop side of new age. I would also say if you like Delerium, especially the last 5 most recent works with primarily female vocals, this disc is for you. I have found many excellent tracks on "Breathe" that I've enjoyed from the first time I heard it.
