What a deal!!,

I found this one at a local record store in the used section for a buck. One dollar. Some of the tracks seemed a little silly at first, but the lyrics are clear and touching at times, and the music is composed very well...it's thick...very rewarding to the listener. This is mostly "feel-good" music, a definite upper. Try "There Was 2," my personal favorite. It always gets put on repeat.

I saw Sonichrome in concert in Orlando at the House Of Blues. They are by far the best band I have ever heard or seen. I give them 5 STARS :-) Buying this album is the BEST advice I can give anyone, who wants some good music. They have a great tune, to go along with their great personality [yep I met them]! Sonichrome is going to be a HUGE hit one of these days- just wait!!

This is my favorite release of 1998.If you're an old power pop fan like me, this is the disc you need to keep the faith. It sounds great out of the box, but really grows on you. If you like The Replacements, OLD Goo Goo Dolls, Jellyfish, Big Star, 70's pop or Todd Rundgren's poppier-fare, don't wait...buy now! This CD is packed with catchy hooks, great songwriting and production... You've really got to hear it.

Sonichrome Rules!,

This album rocks! It has some of the catchiest melodies I have heard, and for the most part the lyrics are good. I love every single song 'cept for Folding, which is dull and without conclusion. But anyways, get this CD! It's great, excellent,kick-butt!These guys are right up there with my over two favorite bands, Switchfoot and Everclear. (And yes, the second part of my e-mail address comes from Sonichrome. Fanatical, huh?)

The cosmic forces from actual good music have hit me again. Two weeks ago, aimlessly walking around Blockbuster Music, I picked up Sonichrome's album, Breathe the Daylight. The cover design and album title alone gave me reason enough to buy it, so I did. Breathe the Daylight is a great album, worthy of being listened to over and over. Sonichrome proves themselves to be one of the best new bands I have heard since Marcy Playground. Breathe the Daylight is composed of 12 songs, all 12 reeling the listener in to a confusing world, where things seem normal but have an underlying surge of emotions. The sound is a mixture of pop and rock, a combination of peppy singing meshed in with heavy guitar riffs and drum beats. The CD goes from soft ballads to louder songs, back and forth with every other track. Many of the songs focus on the theme of love, viewing it in an unconventional way. Chris Karn, lead vocalist and writer of the songs on the album, composes the songs brilliantly. The lyrics easily get embedded in your mind and are complimented well by the background music. "Honey Please" tells of a relationship in dire need of repair, the situation where one partner is unsatisfied and being taken advantage of by the other. Jutting back and forth with its sound, "Dirty Water" reflects the confusion of someone amidst trouble and unbalanced in life. "Innocent Journey" is overly happy with beginning drum beats and strangely reminds me of the band in the Tom Hank's movie, That Thing You Do. It is an upbeat song, making you feel the freshness and joy of a new love. Breathe in the Daylight gives the listener the unstable feeling of having strength in a relationship and then suddenly losing it. Many of the songs refer to the crossing of seas and oceans, to the feeling of sinking and then later regaining consciousness. Overall, this is a splendid album. Sonichrome can tactfully deliver great lyrics and a hypnotizing sound. This is a noble band that does not deserve to be mixed in with the rest of the mainstream, monotonous music on the radio airwaves. Coincidentally, Sonichrome is currently touring with Marcy Playground. I guess the new bands that are actually good stick together.

This CD is hookier than a double grab musky lure. Top to bottom a fine contribution to anyones record collection! I have kept this CD in the 5 disc changer since the day it came out. If you are an musician...this will school you! Crafty guitars, witty lyrics, and a SOLID rhythm section will make the biggest wallflower shake and wiggle!

Sonichrome's Capitol Records debut embodies intelligent lyrics and keen pop sensibilities. With a myriad of hooks and richly textured melodies, you'll forever catch yourself humming these brilliant 3-minute tunes."Honey Please," the first single from this CD chock-full of nuggets, resonates with ringing guitars and sunny charm. An earnest Chris Karn and Co. put to rest any notions that they may be anything but talented and serious. The eclectic blend of styles range from the Crowded House-like "Step on Outside" and the George Harrisonesque "Innocent Journey" to the ELO-ish "Coming Home." The organ and string arrangements are as soothing as a lullaby and the harmonies personify a true joy in music. Oh, and there's even some REM and Replacements thrown into the amalgamate. Furthremore, the ballads "I Don't Need this Now" and "Folding" are two of the prettiest ever written. Behind Karn's amazing wah-wah and fuzzy-toned guitars is an unequivocal rhythm section. Sustaining the reflective songs are Rodney Mollura's strong bass work and Craig Randolph's fervent drums. Sonichrome's unique, supremely melodic power-pop formidably hits close to home. Give it a go, breathe their daylight and find yourself utterly moved.

Debut Effort by Sonichrome Rocks My Face Y'all !!!,

I gotta hand it to the Sonichrome boys. Crisp and crafty songwriting, unexpected textures (check out the disco strings on "Coming Home") and hooks that would make even Newt Gingrich get jiggy - this album flows. Each chorus tends to stick in yer brain like well cooked spaghetti to yer kitchen wall - you know the kind. Chris can certainly write a good tune, and his rhythm section - if I'm not mistaken - are the guys from the now defunct (I assume) Jellyfish. Solid musicianship all arounds, folks. If backed into a corner and forced to label 'em - I'd go with Elvis Costello meets Everclear. What's cool is that each tune stands out - one minute I'm thinkin', "hey this sounds a like some 70's prog rock," next I'm thinkin', "this one's got a bit of ska thing goin' on," then before I know I'm listening to melodic semi-punk. When the tunes aren't rockin' my face, I'm gettin' mellowed by the killer harmonies on the softer tracks - music to swing in a hammock by. The more I listen, the more I like this spin. Congratulations Chris. Local boy makes good has a nice ring to it.

This CD is loaded with songs you will long remember, not merely two or three hopeful hits with added filler. You will not be able to listen to this CD all the way through the first time without playing multiple tracks over and over again...it is that good. Call them power-pop, call them boogieshoepsychedelicarockarolla, call them whatever; after listening to this, you will agree this CD is filled with great music.
