Keller Williams may very well be the best kept secret in modern music. This versatile 10-string acoustic guitar wielding one-man jam band's fourth album, Breathe, is a finely crafted studio composition . . . 3.0 out of 5 stars Not bad
I picked this CD up for no other reason than the fact that String Cheese was involved... I'd never heard of Keller Williams before. While there are some good tunes on here, I can't say that I'm overly impressed. I can't seem to get over the unimaginative puerile lyrics that the majority of the songs have... though in the end, I think there's enough good music left to...

Keller Williams may very well be the best kept secret in modern music. This versatile 10-string acoustic guitar wielding one-man jam band's fourth album, Breathe, is a finely crafted studio composition . . . Each tracks demonstrates Keller's outstanding percussive ear and finger wizadry, witty commentary and creative imagery, making Breathe a distinctive next step in this incredibly talented singer/songwriter's career. Keller's playful combination of musical genres blends with clever lyrics to ignite imagination, inspiration and smiles. Breathe features some classic Keller tunes such as Best Feeling, Breathe and Vacate. If you only purchase one album this year based strictly upon the recommendation of a loud-mouthed, hippie-lovin' music critic, this is it.

I had the pleasure of seeing Keller Williams live at a festival last summer. He is a talented, unique musician. This album showcases his wonderful guitar picking with the ever "tight" String Cheese Incident. If you enjoy tight jammin, noodle music, this is for you.

All i can say is, "WOW!" Keller Williams has done an amazing job with this one, not to mention all of his others. Keller Williams is already a great artist but when playing with the immaculuate String Cheese Incident, he is breathtaking. Breathe is very smooth and easy to listen to, it is surely some of the best funk/jam band music I have heard in a while. This album can be listened to from end to end several times in a row, it is very uplifting and great! If you like Keller Williams or The String Cheese Incident, buy this album!

5.0 out of 5 stars This is the best of Keller's four CD's., October 30, 1999

This record showcases Keller's instrumental and vocal talent, as well as his ability as a producer. The Stringcheese Incident band members are also featured individually and as a group on this collaboration as well. The album is a terrific sampling of Keller's music and SCI versatility. Their personal friendship shines throughout this album. I love it! It is enjoyable listening, especially" Best Feeling", "Breathe", "Lightning," and the ballad-like "Revelation." The songs are original and refreshing. It is an album you will listen to over and over and over again. Buy it and see if you don't agree.

I purchased "Breathe" at a String Cheese Incident before going to Hawaii for New Years. I brought this album to the beach with me and slipped it into my walkman and proceeded to stand knee deep in the Kailua surf. I could not tell you how perfect "Breathe" sounds with sand and sea wiggling between your toes. Thank you Keller.

Keller Williams is a modern day music marvel. From warm earthy strumming to trance-like loops that leave your head spinning, the man can do it all. This CD is a must-own for any SCI fan. Keller and String Cheese meld coherently to produce a full vibrant sound without going overboard or becoming loose around the edges. The only reason I give the album 4 stars instead of 5 is that Keller is capable of so much more live. This is Keller's best CD release yet, but earlier works (Spun, Buzz, Freak...) still warrant looking into. Be sure to see this musician live if given the chance.

Keller Williams' latest album is one of those albums that you don't take out of your CD player for weeks....You tape it so you'll have it in the car....When you are alone, you attempt to figure out how he makes those amazing noises with his mouth and most importantly, those amazing sounds with his guitar. Furthermore, with help from talents including Kyle Hollingsworth and Michael Kang, how could it be less than perfect?

Keller blends his unique talents of lyrics and musicianship to produce this fantastic cd. He is able to blend his amazing guitar works and beautiful voice with the String Cheese to create an unique sound that is a true pleasure to listen to. Check this one out for sure and if you get a chance go see this amazing artist who has a bounty of talent.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Stuff..........., October 13, 1999

Its only a matter of time before Mr. Williams is swept up in the arms of fame. This collaboration with SCI is one that was years in the making. They definatly gel together as if they were one band and not two acts doing a project together. Track 2, "Brunette", is a beautiful instrumental which shows Keller at his peak. Im not going to say anything bad about this album, because we all feel differently about different things. But, do yourself a favor and be the first kid on your block to pick up this gem.

I had never heard Williams' work before, but with SCI backing him up was enough for me. I am glad I did, because it introduced me to a fantastic artist, and helped satisfy my jones for more SCI music.
