I bought his Grand Canyon National Park album, which I loved. I thought I'd give him another try and I must say I was disappointed, seems each song was like the last and it got pretty boring. I'll try some of his others because the guy had talent for sure!!

It has been raining here for three weeks straight but I am literally transported to another time and place when I hit play and breathe in the elements that explode out of Nicholas Gunn's latest masterpiece! Being a yoga teacher I plan to share this imaginative and innovative new music with my students to take them out of their everyday enviroment and introduce them to the exotic lush locations in their mind. The album is a wonderful balance of upbeat latin music that makes you want to move and then sends you down a waterfall to a tranquil place that washes over you and leaves you refreshed!

5.0 out of 5 stars Will Take Your Breath away, November 24, 2004
This review is from: Breathe (Audio CD)
Nicholas Gunn captures the presence of beautiful landscapes soothing textures which he transmits as he plays his flute. The listener connects with the earth, sky, and all living and nonliving things with the sound of each note. The mysteries of nature are revealed .... the spiritual realm is opened as whirls of energy surround the listener. Anyone listening is more open to exploring their own personal journey on this path called Life ... infinite possibilities and choices are narrowed down to the ones that matter to you the most. This music is serene, meditative, life-affirming and loving ... The flute music is like the air we breath ... it is essential and very beautiful and real.

5.0 out of 5 stars another magical journey begins, January 23, 2005
This review is from: Breathe (Audio CD)
Nicholas Gunn picks up where he left off in "journey to yellow stone". This time round, Gunn takes a more experimental approach with a whole new sound-scape. Slightly more exotic with a dice of easten flavor. Having his past 6 albums, I can see that Gunn's musical vibe have been slowly evolving. This multi-instrumentalist has proven that he is a master of his craft.
Truly inspiring and powerful. An album that will bring you into a greater height of serenity.

5.0 out of 5 stars Can't stop listening, November 20, 2004

It's hard for me to put into words my obsession for this CD =) In the last year I have been through a lot, including a seperation and difficult move, and Breathe is the only thing that has brought me peace and let me sleep at night. I was introduced to the music of Nicholas Gunn by a friend of mine who owns all of the park music, and she somehow knew it was what I needed. I'm so thankful that she did! This CD brings me a kind of rebirth experience, and it was very well thought out and crafted. The songs carry me up and motivate me to live each day to its fullest. I am already waiting for Nicholas's next album with great anticipation.

5.0 out of 5 stars Writings by Serge Kozlovsky, February 2, 2012

This review is from: Breathe (Audio CD)
Amongst the follies of the morbid world
We will enjoy ourselves,
And love,
And keep on living
And any other thing is a lie...

When you got tired with the cruelty of the outward things. When you feel despair caused by the ruinous gambles of others. When you want to rest alone and feel deeply that you came to this world to live in love and enjoy your life, to create and to be free and nobody is capable to take away an inward bliss of yours, you just put this music on. It is imbued with an elation, and it's inwardly liberated. It`s full of vital energy and sexuality. Splashes of heartfelt emotions. A creative impulse and a breath-taking sincerity. All this is present in a new album "Breathe" by Nicholas Gunn.

I was waiting impatiently for an appearance of the new album of the musician. And it must be said that I have not been disappointed in it. And what is more: a little over forty minutes have flight by for me in a matter of some seconds. Divine harmonies of flutes, a hand percussion, the keys by Nicholas Gunn and an impeccable sound-design as always. And in every detail you feel a thorough mastery of a real virtuoso who keeps mastering his peculiar sounding.

"Breathe" is a doubtless step forward, a new stage in Nicholas Gunn's creative work. His music is like a luxuriant vegetation of a vast garden which is breaking down all barriers and extending in all directions because it is the life itself...

Nicholas Gunn's work on composing cannot be adjusted to certain limits, but I should still call the album "Breathe" a brilliant example of the modern new age music. It is modern indeed as long as Nicholas Gunn speaks the same language you do. He is here, completely in the present moment and you become aware that this music is being born right now, it is being transformed along with your mood and helps to get rid of the burden of day-to-day duties and fell yourself alive. Living in this world. And it inspires you with optimism. The musician opens his inner world to you and he has enough to share it with you!

The "Breathe" album is a life-enhancing elixir.

When he and she, two solitudes divine
Occasionally meet
There's no end or limit to the mystery of love
And only life exists...

Serge Kozlovsky
