This review is from: Breathe Right Nasal Strips, Large, Clear, 30-Count Boxes (Pack of 2) (Health and Beauty)

My wife often complained about by snoring. There appeared little I could do other than sleeping in the guest room. Then, after I communicated her complaints to my primary physician, I underwent a sleep test. Suddenly the problem became clear. According to the doctor, I was getting very little sleep and my health was deteriorating.

In the test they found that I awakened about three hundred times during the night. They explained that when I became relaxed my Uvula relaxed and closed off my trachea. When I would stop breathing my system would awaken me enough that I could take a breath, but not fully awaken. Since it was happening over three hundred times each night, I was getting little REM sleep.

So I found Breathe Right strips. I do not understand the technology, but somehow I no longer snore and I get better sleep. I strongly recommend these to anyone who snores, and even people who are tired all the time - maybe you do not know you have a problem, I didn't. Personally, I intend to use these little marvels every night.

BTW: Many months later, my physicians ordered a CPAP machine for me to use while sleeping. With the combination of CPAP and Breathe Right, my sleep has improved greatly and my health has improved.

3.0 out of 5 stars Snoring and Breathe Right Quality, January 4, 2011

For those of you thinking that you will stop snoring with Breathe Right think again. Snoring is a symptom of some other problem. In 2000 my doctor asked me if I snored badly. I replied that my wife now sleeps in another room because of my snoring. He suggested that I had Sleep Apnea and scheduled me for a sleep study. It turned out that I did have Sleep Apnea. I obtained a CPAP machine and started using it and my wife returned to our bedroom immediately. My snoring stopped immediately. I also have bad hay fever and the CPAP had an added benefit. Their is an air filter on the blower inlet to the machine that cleans the air to the Mask. I no longer wake up with a stuffy nose. Partly because the CPAP mask forces pressurized air through my nose and partly I believe because of the filter. Shortly after I started using the CPAP I discovered Breathe Right Nasal Strips. I started using them and they helped with night time breathing because I have narrow nasal passages. I have been using the CPAP and Breathe Right Nasal Strips for 10 years.

Now the bad news. In November 2010, I purchased several more boxes of Breathe Right and have been experiencing a problem in the morning. The adhesive that sticks to your nose is pulling away from the plastic band that pulls your nose out from normal position. So I wake up in the morning with only partially open nose passages. It appears that GlaxoSmithKline has a quality problem with the strips. Maybe they are having them made by another factory (OFFSHORE) and that is the problem with the quality.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good, but adhesive is not as strong as the peach-colored version, August 6, 2010

I'm a fan of Breathe Right strips ... they aid in clear breathing when I sleep, particularly if I have a cold. I bought the clear/sensitive version of these on Amazon because the price was great. Going forward, I'll stick with the peach-colored version ... the adhesive is stronger. I found the clear strips would peel off my nose during the night. In some cases, if my nose was even a little damp from pre-bed face-washing, the strip wouldn't adhere. Unless you have very sensitive skin, I would recommend the peach-colored version.

5.0 out of 5 stars Stay asleep!, January 22, 2007
Here was the problem. I kept waking up in the middle of the night because my nasal passages would collapse when my head was turned sideways. Not a good thing if you want a good night's rest.

I tried the tan version first. Horrible. I had a red welt across the bridge of my nose in two days where the adhesive ripped my skin off, even after trying to loosen them up in the shower.

I went to the clear strips which have lower adhesive properties. Perfect, I now sleep through the night, and I can remove them in the morning without removing flesh.

I use this product when I run. They really open your nose airway to help you breathe in more oxygen. These are clear and you can't tell you are wearing them unless you look close.

A tip I've learned when putting them on. Take off only 1/2 of the sticker backing. Use the center line as a guide and place it directly in the middle of your nose. Press the sticky side down on the side of your nose, pull off the other 1/2 of the sticker backing and press on your nose. This way the strip will be perfectly centered on your nose.

I have been using these things for a couple years. I discovered the Amazon subscription program about 6 months ago and I have been greatly pleased. The price is cheaper than in any drug or grocery store and it comes to my door without me having to order it.

If I don't put one of these little guys on before I go to bed, I get a happy, little nudge from the wife telling me to put it on or go sleep in the guest room.

5.0 out of 5 stars Really Opens Things Up, March 5, 2011

I love Breathe Right Strips! The instant I apply one to my nose, I can feel things open up and more air moving. They stay attached the whole night (sometimes 10 hours on the weekend). When I take them off in the morning I notice the reduced difference in air flow.

The clear version is easy to remove with no pain. The tan ones do seem to stick more like a band-aid and pull more when they are removed. Based on that I like the clear version better.

4.0 out of 5 stars Breath Right Nasal strips, January 26, 2011

I always use this product, but thought it could not be the same product because the price was 1/3 of what I would pay for it at Walmart. However when I received it, I found it was the same product.

I wish they would make a little bigger strips, with methol but this is the biggest one they make.

My husband uses these nightly. He has a deviated septum and has problems sleeping and snoring. He also uses them when he goes to the dentist
for the times he has to lay back in the chair for a prolonged procedure. He's been using them for years. Get them from amazon on their subscription
service.
