3.0 out of 5 stars Breathe is for Mitsubishi's mini-SUV commercial
Mitsubishi featured The Dirty Vegas tune Days Go By in their Eclipse commercials...the one with the lady doing that "popping & locking" style of dancing in the front seat, while her male counterpart in the back seat seems to be doing the same (and the driver just grins and digs it).

In Mistubishi's ad for their mini-SUV, which features a bald light-skinned...

I am sure many of you know of this group from the Mitsubishi Outlander commercial. If you are interested in Télépopmusik because of the superb song Breathe and simply want that song, I would suggest buying the Breathe single instead of Genetic World.

The album itself will be disappointing to those who had Breathe's unique energy and great beat catch their attention. The best way to describe the majority of songs on Genetic World would be as a cross between Eiffle 65, Daft Punk, and a little Chemical Brothers mixed in. That combination in itself may be alright at first, but at times it gets rather boring and lacks the originality and energy that Breath alone has. They just aren't on the same level as Breathe.

If you've heard Breathe on the radio, or just know it from the commercial, and want to own it, I would highly recommend buying the single instead of the album; you'll save yourself a few dollars, and in the process you'll avoid having to own a boring album just for one excellent song. Also, you will get some great remixes.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful but hard to find, January 1, 2005
This review is from: Breathe (Audio CD)
I heard this on the Mistubishi commercial, then I saw the music video on VH1 and ordered the CD single. There are probably a thousand different mixes of the song "Breathe"; the original Genetic World track, the music video track, the "Radio Edit" on the single CD, the extended mix, the scratch massive mix, 2 other mixes on the single CD, the one I actually heard on the radio, etc. The track from the original CD has actual lyrics, not just "just breathe" over and over again (not that that's a bad thing). The version I heard on the radio has loud drums throughout. My favorite version is the "Breathe Radio Edit" on the single CD. If you just want the song you heard on the freaking commercial, get this CD. The only good songs are the first and the fifth. Still, it's worth it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Telepopmusik- Breathe, March 19, 2003
This review is from: Breathe (Audio CD)
First heard Telepopmusiks "Breathe" on local radio station, missed the name of the song, but then while watching television
I heard the song again in the Mitsubishi commercial and got the name. Love the relaxed chilled back sound of "Breathe" the smooth background beats, and simple repetitive vocals create an enjoyable listening experience, track vibes positively. A nice background track for a commerical, however I wont be going out and buying a Mitsubishi any time soon!

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent..hypnotic vocals and melody..., September 20, 2004
This review is from: Breathe (Audio CD)
I heard this song on the commercial, and instantly loved it...but I couldn't find the title anywhere...finally, while crate digging at a record store in a mall, I saw the name, Telepopmusik, and remembered seeing it in a British dance magazine. So I decided to listen to it, and well..the rest is just pure enjoyment. This song destroys dancefloors everywhere I go. Well produced, hypnotic, and very emotive. when placed after a non-melodic song in a dj set, it totally brings the crowd from the bar to the dancefloor..the hands go up in the air, and the crowd loses themself in the melody and beautiful vocals. Buy this single now!

The second string of advertisements from Mitsubishi was coupled with "Breathe". Just wanted to clarify this.

Mitsubishi featured The Dirty Vegas tune Days Go By in their Eclipse commercials...the one with the lady doing that "popping & locking" style of dancing in the front seat, while her male counterpart in the back seat seems to be doing the same (and the driver just grins and digs it).

In Mistubishi's ad for their mini-SUV, which features a bald light-skinned black man driving various people various places (like the lady in the passenger seat with those rose petals that float up to the ceiling of the vehicle)? That's the commercial that features Telepopmusik's single Breathe.

Of course...the regrettable, truly annoying Mitsubishi commercial for their Lancer model (I think) features that utterly obnoxious Barenaked Ladies tune that everyone in the commercial actually sings along out-loud to, rather than simply miming it as in previous commercials with previous songs.

Personally, I hate that song and that commercial so much, I'd never buy that car from them...ever...based solely on how much i loathe the commercial (and as far as i'm concerned, i'll never buy a Barenaked Ladies album either...that's how much i loathe that commercial and that song).

4.0 out of 5 stars wrong song..., March 2, 2003

The song from the Mitsubishi commercials is "Days Go By" by Dirty Vegas, not Telepopmusik. You are mistaken. Otherwise, this CD is good.
