I'm sorta surprised that this song isn't really popular. When I was checking out the songs from Taylor to see what songs I wanted and what I didn't want.The song Breathe as part of the album. I looked it up on Youtube and was hooked. It was unquestionably the song I most wanted on my MP3.

The Taylor Swift/Colbie Caillat duet "Breathe" will leave you suffocated. It's bland,forgettable folk rock with a mandolin twanging in the background. It's easy-listening country, and makes Dolly Parton sound hardcore in comparison. Taylor Swift wrote "Breathe" as a breakup song. It's melancholy,lyric-wise,so it's more thoughtful than the usual Nickelback/Hinder/Creed fare,but,musically,it sounds like something that you'd hear as background muzak at a Starbucks. Colbie Caillat,the diva of cheesiness,doesn't help. She's on the sidelines. Colbie chimes in,bringing her usually peppy,perky tone to an otherwise sad song. She sounds waaay too chipper for a song that Taylor apparently wrote in tears.

"Breathe" will leave you breathless,in a bland,boring way.

Besides The Best Day and You're Not Sorry, Breathe, Feat. Colbie Caillat is my favorite song on this somewhat sad album. It tells a story about how Taylor can't bare to live without her ex even though she has to.

I usually can't stand Colbie but her background vocals really compliment Taylor's voice on this track.

It's really a bright spot on the album.

The 2-star review here is absurd and I haven't even read it yet!
