Wonderful Tapes on Breathing and Living,
By A Customer
This review is from: Breathing As a Metaphor for Living (Audio Cassette)
I really learned a lot from these tapes. Got many new insights into how the way we breathes mirrors and influences the way we live. The first tape is mainly a combination of breathing theory, research, and the author's insights, and the second tape has many excellent guided breathing and awareness exercises and meditations. The sound quality of the tapes is very good, and Lewis' voice, especially in the meditations, really helped me quiet down and come more into my body. I recommend these tapes for anyone who not only wants to learn the principles of good breathing, but who is also interested in living a freer, more-conscious life.

Best Tapes on Breathing that I've Heard,
By Dagmar Trebichavksa "Acupuncturist/herbalist" (San Francisco, CA USA) - See all my reviews (REAL NAME)
This review is from: Breathing As a Metaphor for Living (Audio Cassette)
I highly recommend these tapes by Dennis Lewis for anyone interested in deepening her or his understanding of breathing and learning how to breathe in a more complete and natural way, which I believe is very important for our physical, emotional, and spiritual health and well-being. Though a lot of the material on these tapes can also be found in his book "The Tao of Natural Breathing," there is something wonderful about actually hearing this information in the author's own voice, which is both vibrant and deeply relaxing. I've taken several workshops with the author, and this audio production from Sounds True gives a helpful sense of his presence. What's more, there are some great practices and meditations on the second tape that are not included in "The Tao of Natural Breathing."

wrong title,

This review is from: Breathing As a Metaphor for Living (Audio Cassette)
I agree with the first review in many ways, but I just didn't respond to the author as much. As far as breathing exercises I liked Nancy Zi's video better, if you can compare video to audio. My main complaint is that he doesn't go into the concept of "breathing as a metaphor for living" at all. I was really looking forward to expanded thoughts on breath/life. Spiritual thoughts. Mythicalthoughts. Anything. No go, just exercises and a bit of biology. It reminded me of begrudgingly doing scales during my childhood piano lessons.
