Book Description

August 4, 2001
After being cheated on yet again, romance cover model Jolee Randall decides to get as far away from her faithless boyfriend's clutches as she can. Realizing she'll have to take a break from her life in order to do so, she dons spectacles and a dowdy black dress, then takes a job as a housekeeper.

Jolee's new employer Daniel can't figure out why it is that he's so attracted to his frumpy, frowning maid, but he can't stop fantasizing about her either. Pretty soon one thing leads to another and Daniel discovers that there's more under that frumpy black dress than he ever imagined.

Editorial Reviews

Review

"...goes beyond the VERY sexually active storyline to relate that beauty is truly in the eyes of the beholder" -- Julie Shininger, Escape to Romance

"Emotions are beautifully portrayed and the author skillfully paints each steamy scene with pulse-pounding passion...irresistible!" -- Leena Hyat, The Best Reviews

About the Author

Marilyn Lee lives, works, and writes on the East Coast. In addition to thoroughly enjoying writing erotic romances, she enjoys roller-skating, spending time with her large, extended family, and rooting for all her hometown sports teams. Her other interests include collecting Doc Savage pulp novels from the thirties and forties and collecting Marvel comics from the seventies and eighties (particularly Thor and The Avengers). Her favorite TV shows are forensic shows, westerns (Gunsmoke and Have Gun, Will Travel are particular favors), mysteries (love the old Charlie Chan mysteries. All time favorite mystery movie is probably Dead, Again), and nearly every vampire movie or television show ever made (Forever Knight and Count Yorga, Vampire are favorites). She thoroughly enjoys hearing from readers.

1.0 out of 5 stars Story fell flat.....then died, November 6, 2010

Jolee walks in on her boyfriend Kyle having sex with another girl. Jolee leaves Kyle.
Kyle wants Jolee back but apparently he's unable to talk for himself because he does all his pleading thru Jolee's accountant Lisa. Coincidently Lisa wants to persue a relationship with Kyle because he's so good looking that it would be okay with Lisa if he cheats every now and then.

I have no idea how Jolee and Daniel started a relationship. The book flashes to Daniel hiring her on a whim basically.Jolee moves in that night and the next morning they get into some heavy petting that involves fingers right after breakfast.

Most of the rest book is about Jolee giving Daniel oral sex at the drop of a feather anywhere and everywhere in the house but she never wants to go all the way. She just wants to give him oral sex.....all the time.

Then in the end she reveals her real self and for 2 paragraphs he is mad and tells her to leave his house because she conned him.
But somehow they have sex and then she sort of explains and The End.

This authors work is always hit or miss. The samples that you read are usually the best part of her story so thats really not a good way to judge if the book is worth buying. I think this is one that she wrote while sleeping.

Also this book is not an interracial romance. The H/H are both caucasian.

(REAL NAME)
This review is from: Breathless In Black (CD-ROM)
This is story could have been better if it had been longer. Jolee is a romance cover model who comes home one day and finds her boy friend/agent in bed with another women. Fed up with men in general she takes a job as a housekeeper. She dresses as an older woman hoping to be unattractive to men. Daniel senses that there is more to his housekeeper than the dreadful dress and wig. He is attracted to her and will do almost anything to win her. Jolee resists Daniel until she sees he is a compassionate and caring individual. When she finally does sleep with him it is the most wonderful thing she has experienced, but it takes some time for her to trust again. When she does she almost loss Daniel because of her lies.

2.0 out of 5 stars Breathless...Try Pointless, May 20, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This book went from zero to sixty in no time at all. First the heroine decides to change her outer appearance and occupation to keep men at bay because the last of a string of bad relationships drove her there; but then comes an average-looking "joe" who also seems to be very caring and deep and she jumps directly into his arms, mouth, hands; whichever. Not only was the story not consistent, the author seemed to forget what happened previously and would write something different later. Couple that with the fact that it took less then two hours to read and I have to say this book was POINTLESS.
