Breathless is the first book in the Blue Fire Saga, a paranormal romance series set at a small college in present day Connecticut. There are currently five books in the series.

But when her beloved older brother suddenly disappears, she is forced to consider all these and more. She also has to figure out what to do about her mysterious new boyfriend. She knows Rave likes her a lot--so why won't he kiss her?
As Leesa draws closer to finding her brother, she faces some gut-wrenching decisions. Should she risk her mom's life trying to "cure" her? Should she continue seeing Rave, after he reveals his dangerous secret? And most terrifying of all, should she make the ultimate sacrifice-give up her humanity-to save her brother?

Ok. So I was skeptical about this book. A YA romance novel....by a dude?? :) However I was pleasently surprised that the romance spectrum was exactly the kind I like. Sweet and lots of it.

The book did start off with a lot of background and there was alot of descriptions in the book; clothes people were wearing, the characters surroundings, the way people looked.

There was enough acrtion to keep me interested but I didn't feel like I was bogged down with useless fights just to make the story seem action-packed. The characters were believable. They were sweet, annoying, sad, mad and selfless when it was appropriate for them to be and the leading lady WASN'T this whiny tool of a girl who had me rolling my eyes at every turn becasue of her stupidity and flippant attitude. She was damaged but strong and likeable.

But ultimately I found myself in love with it. Especially the last half. I will definitely be reading the second book, Deathless, and would recommend to others as well.

I just finished Scott Prussing's new novel "Breathless." I first heard about the novel in a local newspaper and was intriqued enough by the article to want to read the book. I can truly say that I enjoyed the book and hope he decides to write a sequel. Leesa is a great character and I would like to know her and her friends better. The story is different than the usual vampire books, but is quite suspensful with a satisfying ending. I recommend this book to other's who like to read about the supernatural, and I look forward to Scott's next book.

I am so glad that I picked up on Breathless from Facebook and Scott Prussing's Blue Fire Saga Series. It's not your usual paranormal romance. It started with a one fanged vampire, a college girl by the name of Leesa Nyland, more vampires, Volkaanes, zombies and a host of others. I have fallen in love with one of the main characters, Rave and now proudly call myself a Rave-N-Maniac.

From the minute I picked this book up I did not want to put it down. The characters were well written and you actually could imagine them as real people.

The one good think about coming into this series late is that I was able to buy the next books in the series right away! I couldn't imagine having to wait for the next one.

It's a sweet story with just the right amount of action, emotion and suspense to keep it going. You'll definitely want to read this because after all..don't you deserve to be Breathless too??

Scott Prussing was born in New Jersey, but was smart enough to move to beautiful San Diego as soon as he received his Master's degree in psychology from Yale University.

Scott has written five (and counting!) paranormal romance books in his critically acclaimed Blue Fire Saga. Scott recenlty added Blue Fire Beginnings, a collection of short stories revealing the origins of some favorite Blue Fire Saga characters.

Scott is also the author of the mystery/suspense novels Unturned Stones and Tangled Webs, the fantasy/adventure Dreams of the Last Born, and the teen romance Mine: A Love Story, whose plot is based on the hit songs of Taylor Swift.
