Incredible,

Missy Gibson is one of those artists that engulfs you in the music. This album is incredible. The only thing better than hearing it on the stereo is seeing her perform live. She is one of the best performers I have ever seen....creative, talanted, intense.

An awesome talent,

The disc comes in at just over 27 minutes and it really isn't enough. There are bound to be favorite songs of fans not found on this debut effort. The many studio visits for demos in the past show up on this effort as it is very professional. The first song, FABLES, starts off with a quiet guitar followed shortly by Missy's questioning voice. As the other instruments kick in the song gains an edge to the guitar only seen again on the third song HOLIDAY. it may not be a coincidence that these two songs were co-written with Thomas Trimble. HOLIDAY in particular, is a very intense song aided greatly by the cello lines written by Autumn Dunbar. This song grabs the listener early and reels you in tight; esp. the lyrics. AWFUL SPILL is the 2nd song on the disc and is the most recently written of the batch. This is a fabulous song that deserves airplay right now. If there were to be a single release, this would be the song. Everything about it is great, the lyrics, the singing, the guitar, the backup vocals, etc. The fourth song is the only song co-written by someone who has never appeared in Breech with Missy, Dion Sullivan; CHARMS. This is a Detroit born effort and as Missy stated in a 1995 interview on WCBN; it's about bad boys. This would have to rate as my least favorite song included. The last two songs were both written in Los Angeles with Philip Watts. BLACKTOP is the more recent of the two and has a great hook to the guitar. This has the distinction of being the favorite of my four year old son, Chase. CABIN rounds up the effort and closes it out extremely well. The lyrics and singing are awesome; the music and production values on this disc are vastly superior to prior efforts we've heard. Buy this disc!!!!!

talk about charms, man,
By A Customer
This review is from: Breech (Audio CD)
I haven't listened to all of the other songs on the cd, but damn, charms is one of the best songs I've listened to recently. Awfull Spill ain't that bad too, but if you buy the cd it will be well worth it, merely due to charms. I mean what is 10$ anyway?..
