Far too often, older fans of ExC pan their later records due to the fact that they are "really bad metalcore." I really like all of the Earth Crisis work from All Out War through the Gomorrah's Season era, but I thought this album was a real let down. To me, both lyrically and musically this album comes across as very weak compared to their earlier releases.

Far too often, older fans of ExC pan their later records due to the fact that they are "really bad metalcore." Well, I say that if you look at their metal period from a METAL standpoint instead of from a hardcore purist standpoint, they are really well done. Karl's voice sounds the best here, in my opinion, with its unmatched ferocity carrying across the equally charged message in the songs. The musicians backing him all play their parts tight, and the production is killer. This album is ExC at their most metal; after this they strayed into more rap-leaning territory. This is also their toughest-sounding, stylistically. If you like metalcore or Earth Crisis, you should enjoy this.

4.0 out of 5 stars a blow to the face of pure defiant hardcore, October 12, 1998

Earth Crisis comes across with the most hard-hitting and lyrically controversial album since Rage Against the Machine's debut. "Breed the Killers" is a blow of deep grooves, suprisingly melodic notes, and lead singer Karl's stomach turning growls. It is good to see a band who hasn't conformed one bit since their beginning, especially when the current metal scene consists mostly of Korn imitators. Earth Crisis' potent live show is one of the best, and the energy shows on this album. Check out "End Begins", "Breed the Killers", "Into the Fray", and "One Against All" with Machine Head vocalist Robb Flynn.

Getting into earth crisis? get this. Good stuff here. Nothing too complex musically but great hardcore riffs. Militant lyrics ouch!

5.0 out of 5 stars TOP OF THEIR GAME, September 20, 2007
This review is from: Breed the Killers (Audio CD)
I recall when this came out, thinking "they're on ROADRUNNER... this is gonna SUCK!", but it was better than Gomorrah's Season Ends by far... and I like it better than Destroy the machines (minus a few of the select songs). This is the hardest, most brutal Earth Crisis full length. It is not better than ALL OUT WAR ep, though. I feel this was them at the top of their game and this was their best, hardest album.

5.0 out of 5 stars Asking us to look at the world with a crushing delivery, November 27, 1998
By
The latest release from the deinitive vegan straight edge band. Earth Crisis's major label debut follows in there progression toward a more metalic sound, never comprimising there ideals.

Breed the Killers goes beyond the boundaries of hardcore. Earth Crisis has gotten tougher as the ablums are released. This one is truely "all out war."

This review is from: Breed the Killers (Audio CD)
This is a great album and Earth Crisis's best in my opinion. I gave it a 4 because i do not agree with their opinions like on eating meat, my opinion is that the human race didnt get to the top of the food chains by eating salads
