This bunch of 12 songs recorded by Kate in 1973 somehow isn't regarded as a 'real' Kate Wolf album. At least in the opinion of the (excellent) ... website of the Wolf heirs. But yes, this definitely is a genuine Kate Wolf album. Kate sings as great as she does on her later 'official' albums and she did write all the music. Only difference is that the lyrics aren't hers, they are by a certain Lionel Kilberg. But they are ok, some could have been Kate's, about music, bars, guitar, bums, etc.

It's a pity that the collection contains no more than 12 short songs, not much more than half an hour of music. But there are some jewels! 'You', 'Help', 'Nevada', 'Sonja' and title-track 'Breezes' are excellent. Clean, sober, impressive, Kate at her best. This work matches her best cd, 'Poet's Heart'. These 12 minutes music of five great songs make the album a 5-starry one. The tracks where Lionel is vocally present can be skipped. This is no difference from other Kate albums: whenever a male voice joins in harmony with Kate, the song is ruined completely.

I love everything Kate Wolf ever did -- she was a wonderful performer. This disc is great!

The title is misleading on this cd--it is not Jennifer Lopez but rather covers of Jennifer Lopez's songs. That said, it is every bit as good, okay probably better, than JLo's versions of the songs. If you enjoy the songs on this cd as done by JLo, you will love this cd--and at a bargain price. Can't beat this one.
