Good looking watch,
By Lem (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Breitling Aeromarine Avenger Seawolf Mens Watch E1737018/I504 (Watch)
It took over a week to receive the watch and my inquiries resulted in WATCHMAXX being kind enough to send the watch for overnight delivery at no extra charge, once it was ready to ship. The watch I received runs about 10 seconds fast per 24 hour period, but I read on some forums that BREITLING sets them a tad fast since the break-in period allegedly results in the watch running a bit slower after some time. The watch came with C.O.S.C. certification, so I'm curious as to how it passed the tolerance of 6 seconds fast as the maximum, per 24 hour period. We'll see what happens after several months. This watch is practical for me as I travel quite often and it does not set off metal detectors at the airport, being that it is made of titanium.Don't believe BREITLING's website and how 99% of online watch sales are fakes. That's baloney. No US based online store could remain in existence for 10 years while asserting their products are genuine and selling them for four figures without being legally ruined (don't buy these watches from foreign online retailers). In addition, how would a replica of this watch, purporting to be water resistant to a depth of 10,000 feet, do in water, including deep dives? Wouldn't a few Google searches easily locate fraud complaints? This watch came with serial numbers intact and all paper work (except that the warranty service is provided by the seller's appointed watch-maker). I have a feeling that BREITLING and the other luxury watch brands look the other way when it comes to online sales of their products since it would be quite easy to trace the history of the watches by serial number and stop deliveries to the wholesalers who are supplying the online retailers. Based upon personal experience, the higher price to purchase from authorized dealers is definitely not worth it, IMO. Recently, I needed to have the official TAG HEUER US warranty repair facility in New Jersey do work on a new TAG I purchased from an authorized dealer and after getting the watch back, I discovered that they damaged part of the movement during this repair. Needless to say, I got my money back. Based on this experience, official brand watch repair facitlites are no guarantee of proper service to their own watch brand. |
