Once Upon a Time... I used to slay dragons.
Okay. Slay is maybe an exaggeration. But back when I had a job, I was responsible for making dragons -- among other things. See, I used to create video games (my thesaurus has just suggested 'give birth to' instead of 'create' but that's just a creepy visual, isn't it?)
I spent ten years helping to craft hit games with the awesome studio, BioWare (Baldur's Gate 2, Neverwinter Nights, Dragon Age: Origins). I had a blast. But I had a problem.
There were always these stories burrowing about inside my head. And there simply wasn't enough time in each day to both write these stories that needed telling and make games. So I quit the second most awesome career in the world to focus on telling my own stories. It has worked out fairly well: a few years ago I even won the Writer's of the Future Contest with my short story, 'Digital Rights' -- which is all about whether we own our own personalities in the near future.
Anyways, I'm rambling. I encourage you to check out my work. I'd love to hear your thoughts on anything. Except cats.
How to have this conversation? Well it starts with you heading over to my website (blog.brentknowles.com). My newsletter is a great place to start -- I have a couple different lists including one where you can sign up to get free copies of my work in exchange for a fair review. This will also mean you get first dibs on new stuff. Which is always awesome, right?
If you dig around the site you'll also find some interesting articles (or at least I think they are interesting). And I'm always open to conversation. Just drop a comment anywhere and I'll respond swiftly.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this overly long biography :)
