Just bought a MacBook (Core Duo, Black, 13.3") and wanted to make sure it was protected. After looking at the various cases available, I settled on the Brenthaven Edge I in Black. The computer fits into the well padded case snuggly. The hard edges give it a more structured look than many of the sleeves available these days. But it's still small enough to fit into a standard backpack when necessary. The handle and shoulder strap are both well-constructed and should maintain their integrity for some time to come.

Be warned, you'll have to carry the power converter separately, as there is no room inside. The Front Row remote fits into the inside pocket nicely though.

After searching several outlets, Amazon has the best price currently available.

This Sleeve is very good looking and smart. Only thing I don't like is that the 13" Macbook JUST fits in it. Therefore when zipping it up the zipper does catch slightly on the macbook.

Although advertised as a sleve, this is more like a zip-able briefcase. I was pleasantly surprised by how tough and protective the case is. Corner protection, often a weak spot in these designs, is exceptional. The thing provides a very nice combination of slim design and thorough protection. I'm not in a financial position to run Mac-dropping experiments, but I suspect this could take some very hard knocks.

A few caveats:

The fit is tight, and I would have some misgivings about overheating the MacBook by running it fully seated in the case, as this would tend to block the main heat vent. There is just barely enough room in the back pocket to get a wireless mouse and power supply. Great for transporting the MacBook; probably less ideal for running it seated in an open case, although this problem is going to be present in almost any case.

I purchased this laptop sleeve/bag as I wanted a laptop bag that could function as a sleeve and a bag when needed, and also that would protect my investment.

I must say that this bag covers all of my requirements. For those of you looking for a big bag that will house the laptop, books, mouse, etc...then this is not for you. However, if you want a sleek, custom-fit laptop sleeve for your 13.3" Macbook then this is it! Excellent protection and I absolutely love it! (and the price I got it for was none short of outstanding). Thanks Amazon!

I have the 12 inch iBook and wanted a slimmer fitted case that would keep it well protected. This case was exactly what I hoped it would be. I did also purchase the external pouch for the AC adapter as the case does not have room inside for that. Very satisfied with the sleek profile and protective padding.

Small and compact yet padded enough to protect your mac if you drop it. Good buy.

I bought a second one of these splendid cases for a second MacBook in the family. This is a very durable, slim and heavily armored case that creates a tight custom fit for the MacBook. The case opens up sort of like a book and when laying flat you press the laptop into a VERY tight cutout. Since it would be hard to even pull out the laptop with such a tight fit, the Brenthaven Edge I has a nylon pull strap so that you can pull up and pop the laptop up and out of the case's power grip. The very high density padding is approximately 1-1.5 inches all around the perimeter, and is probably .5 inch on the broad faces on each side of the case, backed up by what is probably a plastic stiffening sheet. I would suspect that you could drop a MacBook in this carrying case and the computer would not suffer a cracked housing (hard to say how durable the guts of the computer might turn out to be after a drop). The inside zippered pocket is broad and deep but too tight and shallow to be of much use except for very flat materials, and the tight outside pocket closes with only one velcro patch, no flip lid, so items could fall out. You can barely get the MacBook cord into this outside pocket. The shoulder strap though durable, is a bit narrow at the padded part that actually rests on the shoulder, but this should make little difference because it only needs to spread the burden of a 4-5 pound load. In terms of computer protection I would rate this as the best I have seen currently on the market. No flimsy, thin foam cut to loosely fit around the perimeter of your laptop. This laptop case creates a perfect hug (i.e. death grip) for a 13.3 MacBook. This is no "sleeve." This case has corners that appear to be metal reinforced and will not give even with a full force effort to compress them. If you are in the market for a case that provides excellent protection and has a minimalist profile this would be an excellent choice. IF you need to store lots of folders and many accessories like a USB hub, cell phone, glasses, PDA, calculator, etc. you'll be vastly short on space.

The Edge I Sleeve for MacBook is just perfect for what need. The MacBook fits in snugly and securely, due to the "Thick" protective padding. Looks expensive but priced right. Love it, Great buy!

No Michael Jackson pockets all over. Easy to remove for an airport scan. Can operate a macbook w/out taking it fully out of the case. Dropped mine once from waist-high and no damage. Light.

This case is made to fit the MacBook. My computer fits snugly and the case is well padded to protect it. I like the size of this case as well. There is a pull tab that helps you to easily remove your computer when you are ready to use it. I think this is the perfect case.
