Brenthaven Professional 17 Backpack for MacBook Pro 17" and other slim 17" notebooks

The best thing about this bag is the padded, removable sleeve that fits the 17" PowerBook perfectly. It's the one place that I feel that my $3,000.00 computer is safe from damage, both cosmetic and serious. I use the sleeve all the time (which can be ordered from Brenthaven direct for $39--a steal); that being said, I don't take the backpack itself around with me much. I find it to be too big and clunky to travel with. I like the fact that there are a lot of pockets available to me, but I never use them all, since I always carry a handbag. I also think the backpack is unnecessarily heavy. It weighs nearly four pounds EMPTY. When you add the weight of a 17" PowerBook (seven pounds) and an assortment of binders, books, and other office supplies (say four pounds, though it's usually more), that's an uncomfortably heavy bag, especially if you have to wait in customs. There is a severe lack of quality bags that are big enough to handle the 17" PowerBook so in terms of that, the Brenthaven backpack is the best on the market. Recommended but only due to lack of competition.

I've used Brenthaven products in the past. They're well built and well thought out, and this backpack is no different.

I've been looking for a backpack to hold my 17" MacBook Pro, and also have room for my dSLR case. I wanted the backpack to look smart for when I'm travelling for business, but not too flashy either. Also, I wanted it to be small enough that it could easily be carried on an airplane, and even slid under the seat if not too full. This pack seems the perfect size. It's also perfect for everyday use, whether you're meeting a client or just going down to a local cafe.

I've spent a lot of time looking at backpacks and had a lot of near-misses. Many of the backpacks listed on websites with dimensions that should fit a 17" laptop, actually don't.

Good product. I can recommend this.

I purchased this for my Macbook Pro. It has lots of pockets and has excellent construction. The warranty is excellent. My only suggestion would be wheels and an extension handle. I primarily use this when I am on a trip and it gets heavy when lugging it through an airport. I haven't seen a better one, though!

Perfect fit for the MacBook Pro 17". It's big but not too bulky. There's plenty of pockets and organizers for anything you my need to carry. The sleeve is great to have if you ever need to make a quick trip somewhere and don't need the full backpack but it's a little tight the first couple of times you use it.

It is a very comfortable bag, it protects my mac book pro when I'm on my way. It's a very good choice, good fabric and materials.

Backpacks, like most other things, are constantly upgraded to a newer model, etc. This doesn't necessarily mean that newer is better because some well-intentiioned changes haven't met the test of time. The Brenthaven model T6091G/A was probably the last model before the current offering, and based on some of the reviews of the newest bag, it seems that they should have left well enough alone! The T6091G/A is a well made durable fabric bag, with lots of storage pockets, a separate velcro-closure protective binder for the lap top, ergonomic shoulder straps and lots of zippers! Best of all, when the new one hit the market, the price dropped on this one and I got one tremendous deal. You might pay less for other bags, but you're getting less. This one is quality.

I am converting from PC to Mac laptop and needed a different size carrier- the backpack is easier to manage than an over-the shoilder model and has a nice padded section for the notebook itself, and lots of other spaces to oraginize your other precious stuff. Price at the time I bought it was unbeatable!
