I was so glad I bought this bag for my computer. It can fit a much thicker laptop. I have a 12 inch PC with a giant 8 cell battery that sticks out and it still fits in just fine. It can hold about another small notebook but not much more, but then again I dont like heavy bags so its okay. The stretch pocket can hold my power adapter well with the cables all wrapped around it. if you have a larger one, it can still probably fit, but you might want to take off the larger power cord for a different pocket. I love how there is a pocket for everything. It's great and really comfy.

Inside the flap there is a zipper with a raincoat for your bag that is on a bungee which is nice for rainy days. This bag looks really sophisticated and I love it. It has such great quality and the padding everywhere is really thick! The bag is really light too. The only downside is that there isnt a place for my water bottle. I would highly recommend this to anyone who has a computer LESS THAN 16 inches. My friend's stuck out a bit too much (it was a widescreen). It still closed, but yeah, not exactly well suited for the job.

This messenger bag is pricey compared to some others, but very impressive. It's a definitely a case of "you get what you pay for."

In addition to the removable/customizable flap system and ear-bud management, it has several additional features that are not included in the standard product description, including:

* a built in rain cover that is attached to the outside flap with an elastic cord and stored in a zipper compartment

* an interior strap with a clip on it for holding keys, etc

* a heavily padded back side for extra carrying comfort

* a generous amount of interior and exterior open or zippered pockets

This can easily hold a laptop and several files/magazines or small books. Students beware: It doesn't expand all that much, so don't expect to fit thick text books into it.

Note that it comes ready to fit 12" or 13" notebooks. But the extra foam pad at the bottom of the inner laptop sleeve can be removed to allow for longer (eg; 15.4" MacBookPro) notebooks to fit nicely.

I don't know if I'll ever bother ordering a new exterior flap ($29), but it's nice to know I can. You could even pass this bag down to some other family member after using it for awhile and "refresh" it by buying a new flap.

The bag comes with almost NO user instructions which normally wouldn't be an issue for a messenger bag, but this is so rich with features it actually takes awhile to figure out what everything is and how to use it. But once you get it, it rocks. And how can you beat a Lifetime guarantee?

My only complaints are minor:

1. Because it holds the laptop vertically instead of horizontally (which apparently is better ergonomically for carrying heavy loads), it tends to fall over easily. If they put a a non-slip surface on the bottom, it would be perfect.

2. I echo the other reviewer--why no water bottle mesh or strap? I don't know what I'm supposed to do with those little loops...

3. The top handle--which is perfect for just picking the bag up and quickly moving it somewhere else--should be thicker and/or padded. It is the only part of the bag that feels like it might break.

Also, despite the fact they make great bags, the Brenthaven site does a lousy job of explaining what accessories are available for this bag system and how to buy them. Apparently, there is some insert that fits inside the bag (is that what those internal velcro strips are for? I suppose if there were instructions I might know!) but I don't see how to order one. Amazon does not list them anywhere, either.

All-in-all, if you're looking for a reliable, sturdy, sharp-looking, customizable messenger bag with tons of innovative features, this is the one to get.
