A Very Inspiring Book,

This review is from: Brett Weston, a Personal Selection (Hardcover)
I have dozens of Coffee table Photo Landscape books, from Ansel Adams and Edward Weston, to John Sexton and Peter Lik. I love the art, the technique, the locations the compositions and a thousand other aspects of Landscape photography that make it fascinating to me.
But Brett Weston has a unique eye for design that he brings to his landscape/nature images. And he captures more drama and mystery from nature than almost anyone else I know of. His images are more than mere documentation of amazing moments in time. I wouldn't take anything away from the other masters of photography, but Brett offers an alternative view that is surprising and unique.

I have been a fan of Brett Weston's work for sometime. But this collection is by far the best of all the books I have in my library. The print quality is exceptional and the image selection impeccable. I love the deep, rich blacks of his work. For example, the cover image of the dunes at Oceano, the deep shadows between the dunes show his incredible design eye. He use the blacks as if they are a design element. I would recommend this book to any photographer.
