I bought this refurbished, and out of the box and it works perfect. It was a little wet inside frm being tested, but it was almost 1/2 off, so no big deal.
But it does make a fairley loud vibreting sound when pumping water to the heating element, and I think thats why someone returned the unit. From what I hear, thats why most people return the K-cup coffee makers. The pump sound only last 15 seconds, but all of these K cup coffee makers make the same sound, even the professional version at my office.
My Breville works great and am very satisfied with the purchace, no more clean up, and have no regrets.
