5.0 out of 5 stars Trust the brand and go for it. An art piece in your kitchen
Shopping for a blender can get aggravating because of so many things to compare, and you may end up convincing yourself that you have to spend $150 or more to get something lasting. 3.0 out of 5 stars Looks pretty, not very sturdy
I got this blender as a birthday present and immediately plugged it in to make some daiquiris. It's a very nice looking blender, the cord has the neat loop on it to make it easy to unplug, buttons are solid, easy to work with. The glass looks very sturdy and thick. So the instructions say, don't blend for more than 60 seconds at a time or you can blow out the motor...

Shopping for a blender can get aggravating because of so many things to compare, and you may end up convincing yourself that you have to spend $150 or more to get something lasting. This blender will prove that philosophy wrong. Take advantage of the fact that this is a new company offering this incredible machine at such a low price...I guarantee that won't last long. I had to wait more than three months to get mine from Amazon (who were nice enough to upgrade my shipping to 2nd fay FedEx free of charge to compensate for the long wait).

To start, this is the quietest blender I have used so far. Then, the way the glass jug fits over the base is different and gives an added feeling of security. If you look closely at the picture, you will see two of the three metal, wide "prongs" that stick up from the base and kind of cradle the jug. It just FEELS good. Also, the six-blades have a unique design (in fact, I thought they were defective and bent in wierd directions), but you realize that they were especially made to crush ice. I have never been able to crush ice this easily. No more of those chunks that end up below the blades, because one arm of the blades actually aims DOWNWARDS. Even the top of the jug is nice; it is heavy and fits snugly. Believe it or not, even the electric plug is designed better than all else; it has a loop at the end that allows you to safely unplug it with wet hands.

To top it all off, the design and material makes this look like an expensive designer blender. The simple elegance of the switch is just the right touch.

In all, I love this blender. It has actually inspired me and I now want to blend everything, including my AM cereal.

I got this blender as a birthday present and immediately plugged it in to make some daiquiris. It's a very nice looking blender, the cord has the neat loop on it to make it easy to unplug, buttons are solid, easy to work with. The glass looks very sturdy and thick. So the instructions say, don't blend for more than 60 seconds at a time or you can blow out the motor. No problem, I put in my ice and daiquiri mix, following the directions, and get started blending. I spend the next 10 minutes trying to get this blender to blend all the ice. I keep having to open the lid to jiggle the ice around and blend some more. My old $9 blender worked better than this. I made 4 batches of daiquiris with less and less ice in the jug to see if maybe I had used too much. No such luck, this blender would not blend anything above the bottom quarter of the jug. So then comes the final straw. The heavy duty glass jug is sitting on the counter and I accidently drop a small plastic spice bottle inside. The glass shatters. So I have packaged this blender back up and returned it. I will have to continue my search for a sturdy blender.

5.0 out of 5 stars Blends great, has a quality look and feel, September 21, 2005

I have been using this blender for the past 6 months - it replaced a very old Waring Blender. I have been very satisfied with the blender. All the parts feel very rugged, the cap sets very well on the jug (helps avoid accidental messes if you overfill). Blending power beats the Waring.

I have blended ice on a regular basis to make smoothies and liquados - this blender makes them beautifully. Very quiet operation with simple to use controls.

Aesthetically this blender is wonderfully designed.

I suggest the Breville if you are interested in a sleek, powerful, and efficient blender at a reasonable price.

1.0 out of 5 stars Can't contact customer service!, June 17, 2004

I got my blender, which does look very nice, and used it twice. Suddenly the blender would no longer work on level 2. Level 1 and Pulse both work fine. I found an 866 number on the back of the package, but when I called it I got no answer, it just rang and rang! Imagine my surprise! So I went to the website and filled out their web form about the problem. That was 3 days ago and I have yet to hear a response. I filled out the form again this morning. I guess I will have to wait and see if they respond. If they don't, I will defininetly start chargeback procedures. It's simply unbelieveable that I can't contact this company!

Update:
I gave the 866 number one more shot today (10 days after I intially tried to contact the company) and finally got through to a person. She told me they were having phone problems last week. I told her the problem I had and she promptly said she would issue a shipping label so that I could send the blender in and they would ship out a new one for me (have not actually received this yet). I never did receive a response from the web site customer feedback form though.

2nd Update:
I received a shipping label from the company that day. She said the replacement process takes about 2 weeks. As a result, I am right now changing my rating from the intial one star I gave it to 3 stars. If I get a blender back that works, will probably up it to 4 stars because it does work really well.
