Book Description

Have More Fun Homebrewing Beer!

There are actually a lot more than three hundred tips on how to brew beer in this book. But “348 Tips, Tricks and Secrets” just doesn’t have the same ring to it as a nice, round 300 does.

"Brewing Beer: Tips" is a collection of those little bits and pieces of advice about homebrewing that experienced beer brewers share with each other when they lift a few together at home brewing competitions, craft brewing clubs, and local homebrew supply stores. These are the clever innovations and the sometimes-painful lessons that are usually learned the hard way. You won’t fail at homebrewing if you don’t know them all, but they sure can make your life easier!

This is another volume in Homebrew Hendricks' hit Brewing Beer Series

"BREWING BEER" gives you all the essential information on how to brew beer at home, that you need to brew a terrific batch the first time you try.
"BREWING BEER: PROBLEMS" is a troubleshooting guide for when your brews don’t quite measure up to expectations.

Within the pages of "BREWING BEER: TIPS" you’ll discover:

* A cleaning tip that can save the head on your beer
* A trick with aluminum foil that can save you hours of grief due to boil-overs
* How to use aquarium heaters and pumps as beer making equipment
* The best gadget for hauling around heavy, slippery, glass carboys
* The best place on college campuses to get free home brew beer bottles
* How to use a test sample to check the progress of fermentation, without using a hydrometer
* Unexpected beer brewing ingredients like coffee, spices, fruit, vegetables, chocolate, and more
* Low carbohydrate homebrews

And over 300 other helpful, home brew tips, tricks and secrets!

SPECIAL BONUS!
Just for fun, over 40 beer-joke posters and pictures are sprinkled throughout the book.

Whole chapters chock-full of beer making Tips & Tricks:

* The Best Advice for Homebrewing Newbies
* Beer Brewing Record Keeping
* Cleaning and Sanitizing Your Home Brewing Equipment
* Hops and How to Grow Your Own
* Yeast
* Malt

This is a great companion to Dave's previous 2 publications. Any problem that I could think of, Dave has addressed in this book. His tips on hops especially caught my eye. This is going to be a great afternoon & maybe an all night reading session. Thank you Dave for another Grand Slam publication!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Brewing Beer January 26, 2013
By Nicole
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Once again Homebrew Hendricks has delivered! I bought Brewing Beer: Problems (Troubleshooting Your Home Brew) for my brother when he was having trouble with his home brew and when I saw that this book full of tips was available I knew I had to grab it too...(hey, if I'm going to drink it...and I am...I want it to be as good as possible!)

I enjoyed the jokes and funny pictures, especially the 'Beer Prayer' and I think the chapter on sanitization is important as a lot of people (including my brother) are a bit lax with their garage brewing operations. I'm looking forward to improved results when my brother gets through the book and I plan on getting the other book in this series Brewing Beer (4 Simple Steps To Your First Home Brew - With 40 Easy Peasy Recipes)for good measure. Thanks Homebrew Hendricks.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brewing Beer -- GREAT Tips! December 27, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
My thanks to Dave "Homebrew" Hendricks for sharing his secrets! My attempts to use chocolate while trying to brew an extra-stout porter always turned out bitter despite using sweetened chocolate. Now, because of just two of the 300+ tips, tricks, & secrets that the author shares in this easy-to-read and entertaining home-brewing "must" for gourmet amateur brewers, I've finally made a porter that makes me smile and makes my friends beg for more. (Note: I added lactose to moderate the bitterness and vanilla extract to enhance the flavor, hints 159 to 164.) Highly recommended!

4.0 out of 5 stars Having been a beer brewing failure.... December 16, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Having been a failure at brewing, I was particularly interested in this path toward success, and it truly is. If you want to make wonderful brews, the kind that make you sip and sigh, then this is the book for you, and it's over 300 tips will make you, and those you treat with a mug, happy indeed. Don't miss this if you want to be a successful home brewer. And look for the authors other books in this series Brewing Beer (4 Simple Steps To Your First Home Brew - With 40 Easy Peasy Recipes) and Brewing Beer: Problems (Troubleshooting Your Home Brew)

5.0 out of 5 stars Brewing Beer Tips December 12, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Who knew so many things could go wrong when brewing beer? Author Dave Homebrew Hendricks provides useful tips, suggestions and advice on equipment for novice brewers. After reading through this 300 tips plus manual with illustrations and bonus materials here are a few things that stuck with me; how important it is to clean and sterilize your equipment, have the proper supplies and equipment, plan ahead before you start the brewing process, always have a charged fire extinguisher nearby when brewing, experiment, don't stress over small details, always taste your brew and most importantly...have fun. Excellant, detailed book for beginners!
