I think it teaches kids that having a horse isn`t just about riding and petting the horse. sooner or later you will have to feed , water and pick up after the horse. you can`t always have your parent`s doing the dirty work. it also is a nice addition to the barn because it gives it an authentic look.

This set is a fantastic addition to any Breyer horse collection. These pieces are so realistic it's unbelievable. The pieces are a lot heavier than you would expect, and I believe they will be very durable in the years to come.

Probably one of the best parts of this kit is the pile of dung. It, too is very realistic, but it gives the kids something to pick up, too! The adults in the house get a kick out of the dung, too.

So, if you are strapped for a good gift, this is definitely worth it.

This was bought as a Christmas gift to go with the barn I bought for my 3 year old. Each peice looks very real, but as much as I love looking and playing with the peices, I may not recommend it for little kids. The bigger peices, like the wheelbarrel and bucket are sturdy, but she has already broken off one of the pitchfork forks and I'm worried she'll ruin the broom. We've also already the the little peice of "manure", probably got vacuumed up.

This set helps complete the reality play with the horses and stable that my daughter got for Christmas. She is still troubled by the plastic horse droppings; but I haven't heard anymore requests for a real horse now that she realizes that they do make messes, and you do have to clean up after them. The only trouble that I've had with this set is, durability. The pitchfork that came with the set is not especially sturdy, one of the prongs has already broke off.

Since we have a horse, DD wanted a set like this. This was the only one that actually had something to clean up!

We ordered this along with 2 other "tack" type sets from Breyer and LOVE it. It is exactly as pictured only a little bigger than we expected, which allows for easier manipulation. My daughter uses her stable as some kids use dollhouses, so this is the perfect addition. Oh, and we got it to use with Schleich horses and it fits very well. maybe a bit big, but that is fine.

Well i recieved the set and was so excited about it and had been waiting for it forever!!!I noticed something was missing and i started to freak out.I opened the box hope that the item missing(A SHOVEL)had just fallen out but no...sadley there was no shovel and i was sooooo dissapointed!!!This was a complete scam and waste of moeny-(I HAD PAYED FOR A SHOVEL TOO!!!) so i recomend NEVER buting this.Of course unless you don't care about a shovel then it's a good product.Cry cry cry...

This is not what I expected when ordering. I thought it was a stable cleaning set sized for use by a child. It turned out to be a toy set for use with a toy stable.
