I purchased this set at Costco for my daughter for Christmas. We assembled it that morning, and right away I could tell it was going to be a problem. First of all, from the picture on the box, it looks like the whole set is plastic. The walls of the stable are actually a heavy shiny cardboard that can barely support the weight of the large plastic roof. There are 4 support pieces, but they do little to help it stay together. You have to line up the walls with this little groove that runs along the roof piece, and also get the 4 support pieces to click into place. It is almost impossible to do, and once you do get it together it cannot be moved or played with. I returned it to Costco and will not make another Breyer purchase. I did call the company first, and they were not interested at all in what I had to say, or to help remedy the problem. They just said I'd have to return it to Costco.

I agree with all of the above. "Santa " got this for our daughter (again at Costco). It falls apart so easily . My daughter is getting so frustrated that she is starting to cry when it breaks when she tries to move it. We will probably return. The doll and horse are fine so it will be hard to take them away from my daughter to return the CRUMMY stable.

I purchased this toy at Costco and it was a complete waste of money. The horses and rider are fine, but the barn instantly falls apart if you are able to get it fully together at all. I returned this product to Costco.

I concur with the previous post. This toy is a huge disappointment. The barn is made of thin materials. It falls apart with the slightest movement. It is one of the biggest pieces of junk I have purchased. I also got mine at Costco...which I may take back.

I was very disappointed in this toy given that Breyer usually sells good quality products. The horses and rider are OK, but the stable itself is basically useless. The walls and floor are made out of cardboard, and because of this the whole set will instantly fall apart if your child tries to open a gate or pick it up. You might be able to fix it up with some glue, but you should not have to do this. This is the same model carried at Costco, so beware if you pick it up there.

this product was a gift and is complete garbage. it falls apart every time you look at it. it was a total waste of money. the only part of it that is decent is the horses(cute) and the doll is as well. i would have never paid for the cheap cardboard sides or the cardboard floor---we can make a much more sturdy barn out of a box. would not recommend.

We bought this item for our daughter for Christmas. We did not know that the sides and floor of the stable were made of cardboard. We will pay more attention to other reviews in the future.

The top and bottom of the stable are fine. The floor of the stable is just cardboard and because of recessed areas in the plastics, the floor will move and sag with any pressure of a child pressing in on it. The unit took a long time to put together and get it to stay up. Once up, it will fall apart very easily if picked up by the roof of the stable.

The horses and rider are very well made and our daughter wanted to keep it because of these. Also, the roof and floor, as well as gates are made of plastic and look durable. We will replace it with something similar for her but of a higher quality.

Plastic sides on this unit would have made all the difference but $36 for a toy that is constantly falling apart and would be ruined soon after play is not acceptable.

Two stars for the quality of the horses, rider and horse accessories. If it hadn't been for them, I would have reviewed it with only 1 star and less if possible.

Hopefully Breyer is reading these too and will improve the overall quality of the product even if it has to cost slightly more.

This stable by Breyer was a disappointment. The walls are made of thin printed cardboard, that slides into flimsy plastic brackets. My daughter is 11, so loves it and won't destroy it, but I would not recommend it for younger Breyer enthusiasts.

I only bought this for the horses. My friend and I played with one of these sets when we were kids, and I remember the stable coming apart all the time. I think we just left the front gate part off most of the time because it was easier to play that way. You might try gluing it together so you won't have as many problems.

This stable was easy to put together. It has three separate stalls for all of the granddaughter's horses. She was able to pretend of the horses coming in, being saddled, and riding around the table. This is wonderful for a little girl to pretend. The Western horse and doll were easy for her to put the bridle on....very wonderful.
