Product Description

From the Manufacturer

Some horses are born to greatness. O'Leary's Irish Diamond scored the highest conformation marks in Ireland, and following his sale to Jim and Karen Leary, became the only RID (Registered Irish Draught) stallion ever performance-tested, and approved in America by the Irish Horse Board. Thanks to his pedigree, which has produced jumping and dressage stars such as Custom Made, Mill Pearl, Special Envoy, Pinon Muldoon, Joe II, dury Ladd and Millstreet Ruby, the 16.2-hand grey needed no formal introduction to the international dressage or show jumping worlds. According to his present owner, Melissa Cason-Kinney, "this is one Diamond that shines with equal brilliance wherever he performs".

This is a beautiful Breyer, the perfect Christmas gift for my daughter. Each Christmas, for the past 23 years, she has received a Breyer from her dad and I. She is especially fond of draft horses and draft crosses. When we saw O'Leary listed at such a good price, we just couldn't pass him by.

5.0 out of 5 stars love the horse, December 12, 2010

I bought this horse for my daughter last year. I have collected Breyer horses since I was little. This model is beautiful and very detailed. The paint is gorgeous, the dappling is realistic and has so much depth to it. The horse's face is so sweet I still love to stop and look at him when I'm in her room. It's also nice because the horse doesn't have a stand or anything, so it can be played with as well. He's very solid.

We also saw the real horse that this model is based on at Breyerfest in 2010. He has since been put to sleep because of health issues. It makes me love this model even more.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful and Very Realistic Model Horse, January 15, 2012

This is probably one of my favorite Breyer horses. The coloring is beautiful and very realistic, a light dappled grey with striped hooves and a really cute blaze with a pink nose. One really cool thing about these is that since they are all hand painted, each horse is a bit different, with some being lighter or darker or with more or fewer dapples.

This horse is larger than most other Breyers and is approximately 14 inches long from nose to tail and 9 inches tail from hoof to ear tip. It should stand up well to normal play. The plastic that these are made of is quite durable, and this model's legs are significantly thicker than a lot of Breyer horses, but the legs, tail, and especially the thin ears are prone to breaking off during really rough play. The paint is a bit less durable and may get rubbed off in spots if the horse is played with a lot.

All in all I think that this horse is a great value for someone who is either a Breyer collector or someone who just really loves horses.
