Our four-year-old daughter wants a horse farm more than anything else for Christmas. All she talks about is how Santa will bring her a horse farm. She is sooooooooo excited about it.We selected the Breyer Paddock Pals Glamour Girls Ranch because it looked beautiful in the picture, and because Breyer has a solid reputation for building quality toys. To tell the truth, WE were excited to receive it ourselves. It arrived today, so we decided to open the box and set up the farm. That's when the disappointment struck us. This is not a standard North Pole quality product. Simply put, the quality of this ranch is TERRIBLE. We were able to get the farm assembled, and true to the pictures on the web, it does look nice. However, getting it to that point was an act of frustration that tested our patience and resolve. Then, playing with it is another matter entirely. As the other reviewer commented, the windows and doors will not remain on the barn at all. The slightest touch knocks the window shutters and doors off the structure. Some doors did not want to open at all without popping off. One door actually did not fit. The fence? Let's just say that it wouldn't hold any horses I know of - prtend or otherwise. We joked that this barn reminds us of one of those satirical "some assembly required" Christmas toys that takes forever to put together, and then falls apart as soon as someone moves. The barn itself "feels" flimsy. It almost feels brittle - it's a thin & brittle plastic. It's VERY CHEAP! It doesn't close together evenly or easily. It "snaps" as it closes instead of the smooth motion that we expect. The horse, girl, and stable accessories supplied with the barn are fine, but they aren't anything special. We plan to send it back. In doing so, we now face a daunting dilemma... We now have three days to find a suitable farm that would meet our expectations, and more importantly, our daughters' expectations. Obviously, we do NOT recommend this product.

My daughter received this much-desired toy as an early Christmas gift from her grandmother. The product looked nice in the ad and we believed Breyer to be a good name. Well, we could not have been more wrong. The quality is horrible -- the plastic is incredibly cheap and the pieces do not stay together. Every door and shutter falls off constantly when touched (even slightly) and the fence pieces do not stay together. In the three days she has had the toy, it has done nothing but upset and frustrate her.

Big Hit at our house!,

My 6 year old daughter received this as an early Christmas present from a friend and has been playing with it non-stop ever since. Yes, the fence has to be positioned just right, and if it is, it does not come apart. It is made for children older than 4 for sure. My daughter and my 5 year old son both play with it and now my son wants the traditional red ranch. They love the little accessories, which are definitely made for school-aged children, not preschoolers. Perfect for 6-8 year olds who are more careful in their play.

I would consider myself a very lenient judge of toys. I've never complained when doors fall off, wings fall out, or windows & gates have to be resnapped again & again. I don't mind that- but what I do mind is buying my daughters 6 Breyer horses for her 6th birthday and within only 1 week 4 of the 6 are completely broken.... including the white horse that came with this Glamour Girls' ranch. My girls are gentle with their toys and were ready for some "Real looking Horses." So, I bought Breyer horses and as my husband says, "Never again." 3 of the horses legs broke simply from walking them on the carpet! One of the Rider's legs snapped off just from being placed on the horse & I can't for the life of me get it back on. One of the larger horses lost all it's tail hair simply from being brushed with the brush it came with. Honestly, these toys are cheap and defective. One of the other Brands of Horses she received held up great. Now, I'm on the lookout for any more horses from any brand but Breyer. I wish I had been warned about Breyer's Quality.

I agree with the other reviews. My four year old received the ranch as a birthday gift - none of the pieces stay together - at all. How do you explain why the gate won't hold together - why the horse won't stand up, why the barn doors keep falling off - and what do I say to the gift giver when they see it?

My daughter bought this with her own money and what a disappointment. The quality stinks. I am trying to get her money back. Hopefully Breyer will have better customer service to make up for the quality of this toy! Buy the wooden Melissa and Doug stable instead. Much better quality!

I had to laugh reading the other reviews, because they all sound like my experience. This was a Xmas present for my daughter. I was nearly in tears from frustration at putting the stickers on it, and I finally threw away those two weird white pieces that didn't seem to go anywhere. The carry handle only stays put if you hold it in place while you're latching the barn closed. One door was completely missing and the others are always falling off. The fence is a joke. The pieces that attach to the barn never stay in place. The plastic is flimsy. We only kept it because my daughter loves playing with it anyway. I'm just waiting for the day when it falls apart. We're on our second broken horse now. We ended up buying the Schleich brand horses which are nearly the same size and are much more durable.

My daighter received this item for Christmas. It didn't come with any directions on where to put the stickers, I had to look online to see what the heck the blue circle sticker was. It also came with 2 little white plastic pieces with 2 little holes in them and I still have no idea what they are for. I know most of the assembly is self explanatory, but I've never seen a toy come without any instructions at all. This toy is chintzy and not what I expected from Breyer.
