Editorial Reviews

From Library Journal

This historical romance offers love with just a hint of swordplay. Heiress Briar Rose falls for handsome knight Gareth Hawke, who, unbeknownst to her, is poor and not the nobleman she imagines. The story then proceeds in the usual way. Severn House books can be purchased at a discount at 800-830-3044.

I bought this book after I read the review here. I'm a Susan Wiggs 's fan, I read most of her books. I found this book the most boring and unreasonable one. It's a long and uneventful story, a few words from the hero to the heroine could clear the misunderstandings between them, instead they left the rift between them get deeper and deeper. It's a very disappointing book.

I was a little wary when my teacher, Miss Roberts told us we were going to read this book, but I totally warmed up to it!! I combines romance with raw animal passion. There sure is a lot of both!! It's the kind of book that makes you tingle. With pasion that is.

I hunted all over to buy this old book from the 1980's because I like so many of Susan Wiggs books and I thought I had not read it... But when I finally found it and bought it for full price, plus shipping, I had already read it a long time ago. I lost interest in it after a few chapters and have not finished it. It also got damaged in shipping to me.
