My family was born and raised in Brick Township -- from pre-1875 on... -- and it was wonderful to see this collection of old photographs and read about Brick's origins. Lots on the Havens clan, little on the Osborns... but that's okay. I would guess that records were scant.

I have to admit that I have always disliked the turning of our otherwise colorful town names -- Laurelton, Osbornville, Adamston -- into the gawdawful "Brick," but such is life.

My criticism of the content is that it focuses more on the Herbertsville origins and gives totally short shrift to Osbornville and some other towns. I know they couldn't "do it all."

This book is well worth having -- for all of us "natives" and also the 1950-70s "immigrants" who octupled our population...

Good job!
