It works for all shapes and sizes,
By Book Crazy "Sam" (Villanova, PA USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Bridal Bootcamp (Paperback)
I got this book for my sister when she announced her engagement. I must admit it was half as a joke since she is now in her 30s and not in the best of shape and never before married. Well, all I can say is WOW. This book works. In the two months since I saw her, I could not believe the transformation. So much so that I'm getting a copy of this book now for my wife AND ME. I might not be the one getting married, but I want to look good when I walk my sister down the aisle.

It's a great book,
By bear "Meg" (NY) - See all my reviews

The book is detailed and very helpful. The author gives a detail description (with pics) of the exercises that can be done at a gym or at home. She offers meal plans for a 1900, 1500, and 1300 calorie diet. Also, the workout routines change after 3 months. For example, you start out doing strength training 3 days a week. For each day, you have different workouts to do. Then after the first 3 months, she gives you 4 days a week, with different ones, etc. I think it's a great plan because she's not trying to sell other products like many other authors. She recommends multivitamins, antioxidants, and protein shakes, but she's not all for one product. And I've looked and found all these things for very cheap! What's great is that this is a 6 month plan, meaning it's realistic. I'd recommend it to anyone who wants to get into shape, not just brides.

This book has proven to be the next best thing to a personal trainer. It takes you every step of the way and gives you workouts that really do the job. You walk away from the gym feeling wonderful and confident. I highly recommend this book for anyone not just brides.

Good book, eating plan is very hard to follow,
By KJJunod (Philadelphia, PA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Bridal Bootcamp (Paperback)
I purchased this book before my May wedding in Disney hoping to tone up and lose that last 10 pounds. However, I found the eating plan to be strict and hard to adhere to. I work full-time and felt is was hard to integrate into my daily schedule. The workouts, however, were great. Lots of good ideas that helped me tone up for my big day.

Excercise program is worth it,
By
This review is from: Bridal Bootcamp (Paperback)
I have this book and Bootcamp 360 for Brides. I think the workouts in this book are fantastic - I've been doing it for just over a month now and can see a very clear difference in my arms. Originally, I just checked this book out from the library to flip through it, but I got hooked and had to buy myself a copy.
If you are a newbie to fitness and health, the vitamin/protein shake supplement thing in the beginning is a little overwhelming. Actually, I found the diet very strict and it feels like you are set up to fail if you are a true beginner. So instead I use the diet program from Bootcamp 360 for Brides. I do follow her vitamin rules and try to follow the principles of her diet, but doing the warm water lemon thing while eating dry protein shakes was a bit too much for me.

Good Results,
This review is from: Bridal Bootcamp (Paperback)
I started seeing really good results after only 3 weeks of following the exercise plan. My advice to those who buy the book is use the meal plan as a "guide"... it is very strict and bland, and I has still seen amazing results by just loosely following the eating guidelines. Depending on how much weight you need to lose, tailor it to work with you!

Great Workouts, Unrealistic Food Plan,
By Nora Darling "Nora" (Salt Lake City, UT) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Bridal Bootcamp (Paperback)
This book is great for anyone willing to work hard and seriously lose weight and tone, even if you do not have a wedding coming up. The workouts are awesome, no complaints there. The food plan really is right on as well, and similar to many calorie restricted meal plans I've seen before. However, the necessary grocery list is unrealistic. It would be perfect if everything in the grocery store was sold in 3 oz and single serving containers...
The book calls for tiny, tiny portions of food that is usually sold by the pound or more and then does not use it again until a week later. It is too difficult to come up with 6 oz of chicken, 3oz of flounder, 3 oz of ground turkey, 3 slices of turkey breast and 3 oz of top sirloin all in one week (not to mention one piece of Swiss cheese and 5 slices of two different kinds of bread). If you live alone and plan to follow this diet to the letter you better either have an empty freezer or be willing to throw away a lot of food (please don't!). The problem is that despite its goofiness the diet is great, and I keep trying to make it work with my grocery budget. One trick I have found is to repeat days. Instead of going through an entire week I'll repeat day one as many times as necessary to get rid of the food in the fridge. If you're clever with meal planning, or are already living with the future husband who will take on the leftovers, this diet is awesome for losing weight and keeping your energy up. One last tip: If you are going to do the protein powder (which I do recommend) DO NOT buy Goatein. It is insanely expensive and only necessary if you are allergic or have an intolerance to cow's milk. Whole Food's 365 brand Whey Protein is almost identical nutritionally, tastes better, and will cost about a third of the price of Goatein. And yes, it's Goatein, not Gotein. She spells it incorrectly throughout the book.

I would not suggest the food recommendation, but after 1 month I am loosing weight with the exercise plan and cutting back on calories. I would recommend the exercise plan for anyone getting married soon like myself.
