Editorial Reviews

Following the collapse of her father's business, penniless socialite Claudette Colbert takes a job working with gruff magazine editor Fred MacMurray and charming writer Robert Young. Before you can say "battle of the sexes," Colbert and MacMurray transform their bickering into romance--and wedding plans. But when an argument sends his would-be bride into the arms of Young, MacMurray hatches a plan to get her back. Hilarious comedy co-stars William Collier, Sr., Donald Meek. 83 min.

This review is from: The Bride Comes Home (VHS Tape)
This is a very mediocre Depression comedy from 1935. With stars of this caliber, one would expect more. The script is exceedingly shallow and predictable, and the laughs are very few indeed. Fred and Colbert give it their best, but there isn't much even the best actors can do with this lame story line. Best forgotten.
