Was alright..., December 7, 2008
This review is from: Bride Of The Delta Queen #18 Louisiana (Janet Dailey Americana: Louisiana) (Paperback)
Back cover: The lady was not for sale. Selena Merrick anticipated having a pleasant vacation in New Orleans. She was even lighthearted enough to joke with a group of conventioneers who mistakenly thought she was a lady of the night. Chance Barkley, however, overhearing Selena's foolish words about the fees she supposedly charged, took them seriously and insisted on hiring her services. Selena managed to escape him, but when they met again on board a Mississippi steamboat she knew her luck had run out...
My thoughts: the beginning of the book was exciting and funny. But then after that I kinda lost interest and started skimming and just wanted to reach the ending already. There was nothing really wrong with the writing but I just lost interest. This is one of my Mom's favorite books, but I thought it was just "alright". There is a sort of mystery in the book I guess. Anyway, it was just OK to me.
