Low on Budget but High on Fun!,
This review is from: Bride and Doom (Amazon Instant Video)
My hat's off to independent productions with small budgets. "Bride and Doom" was shot entirely on location in Southern Maryland (mostly in Waldorf, MD) and starring local, DC Metropolitan actors. The bride was played by Sarah Raley-Dale who is best known for getting married on the live broadcast on NBC's "The Today Show Throws a Hometown Wedding" in September 2005. But back to "Bride & Doom". "B&D" is an hour long comedy and is a cross between Miss Marple meets Abbott and Costello meets the Brady Bunch, well sort of. There is a lot of silly fun happening as the two lead detectives (both named Nicholas) bumble their way through the caper; and featuring many (very supportive) Waldorf businesses like Starbucks on Western Parkway; Northgate Pharmacy; Gateway Florist; Classic Image Hair Salon and Spa; Lee's Funeral Home in Dunkirk, MD and many more. The movie was written and produced by two Southern Maryland residents and friends, Mike Lucas and Frank Pilato. If you're into locally produced, murder-mystery, campy movies, then "Bride and Doom" is sure to please!
