Are you really my family?,
By A Customer
This review is from: Bride Of His Choice (Harlequin Presents) (Paperback)
Back Cover description: Five sisters...and Richard Seymour has to marry one to gain control of the Durant financial empire.Made to feel the ugly duckling by her glamorous family, and totally rejected by her father, Leigh Durant is stunned when Richard makes his choice-to marry her! Can he possibly give her the sense of belonging and love she's always craved? His proposition is very tempting. And they do share an intense physical attraction. But is she truly the bride he wants...or just the easiest path to power! Leigh left her family years ago so she could get on with her life away from her father and family. Richard is an interesting hero and really does care for her-enough to have let her go and grow. There is the usual twists, but three stars is all I could give this story. It really didn't move all that fast, and in spots was a little unbelievable.

Other reviewers have given away a lot of storyline in their reviews, so I'll just give my impression of the story itself.Leigh and Richard are the main characters. This book was about healing, and how to emotionally survive enormous rifts amongst family members; including lies, a mean-spirited father ruining not only one family but two, and how this painful legacy lived on even long after he died. This tale of Leigh & Richard is about how they worked hard to overcome this legacy, and forge a new one of family unity. Many characters changed over the course of this book, but I found it realistic for the most part because people can learn from each other's mistakes, and hopefully that will bring them together. There were numerous surprises throughout this book, and I was never, ever bored. I love these characters! This is one of those books that you finish and give a satisfied "Ahh!" over, then hurry to amazon.com so you can give a review since you love it that much. If you have ever had family problems--and who doesn't--you may love this book as much as I did. Very unique & a great message, as well. Well told! I gave this book 5 stars because it is healing to read, as well as being unique and never, ever boring. A real page-turner. Ok, I'm off to buy more Emma Darcy titles--TTFN!

This was a book about a woman who was an outcast and become so much more when she had the son her dead father had longed for. Apparently the hero had loved her from afar but since he was actually the "son" of the man who raised her he did not protect her as she supposed. Please listen to the other reviewer. This is a skip read

Well i liked this story but i felt as i dont know anything at all about these characters..i have a few questions that keep nagging at me..If richard has always loved Leigh since she was a child why did he have her sign a Prenup supposedly hes been working all these years to win the business back for her? could someone answer that? Also i was a little dissapointed with the heroinne i understood her reasons but i didnt like that she hoped for a boy, after her childhood she shouldnt have cared about that, a child should be loved for itself not cause it could make life easire for a bunch of selfish women with no courage to live their lives cause thats why she wanted a boy for her sisters and mother. also is it just me or is the fact that the change in her family a little too little too late and a bit fake?? also i felt i didnt really know the hero what makes him tick, he was so in control it was scary...
