NORTHERN LIGHTS BRIDES

IT'S A BIRD! IT'S A PLANE!

Only J.D. "Blue" Hazzard would crash his plane into a lake just to get Maggie Adams's attention. Her gawky high-school swain had grown into an irresistibly temping god, but Maggie had returned to Minnesota for some peace of mind—which J.D. seemed intent on shattering!

IT'S A HUSBAND!

J.D. couldn't believe his eyes. Maggie was even better-looking than she'd been in high school—and just as skittish. Back then she'd never given him a second thought, but now he was going to break through her defenses even if he had to strip them from her, layer by frilly layer….

Northern Lights Brides: Three women who'll do anything to get their men!

Editorial Reviews

Review

Maggie Adams spent the happiest time of her troubled childhood in the cabin on Legend Lake. After fifteen years she's come back to bury the demons of the past and face an uncertain future. What she wants is peace and quiet, what she gets is Blue Hazzard. Straight from her past, Blue flies into her life and won't leave. Determined never to trust another man, Maggie wants to believe that Blue is different. But can her battered heart take another beating if she turns out to be wrong again? While looking for bear poachers, J.D. Blue Hazzard spots something much more interesting-- a beautiful woman with familiar legs. It couldn't possibly be Maggie after all these years... He never forgot the girl with the long legs that earned her the nickname Stretch. He has followed Maggie's successful modeling career and now that she's back in his life he doesn't intend to let her go. When they were teenagers, Maggie was as quick with the put-downs as he was with the come-ons. Now her eyes are clouded by sadness and mistrust and Blue wants to change that. He has always loved Maggie-- all he has to do is convince her. The Bride Wore Blue is the promising first book of a trilogy by Cindy Gerard. With her snappy dialogue and knack for description, Ms. Gerard has guaranteed that her next book will be much anticipated! Blue is the perfect, loveable hero and his dog Hershey is sure to win a few hearts, too!Cindy Gerard has written the perfect summer romance! As refreshing as a summer breeze! Spend an afternoon in the sun with Cindy Gerard's The Bride Wore Blue! Romantic and tender! Delightfully fun to read! A sweet treat from Cindy Gerard! I'm looking forward to the next book in this tantalizing trilogy!Kristina Wright -- Copyright © 1994-97 Literary Times, Inc. All rights reserved -- From Literary Times

5.0 out of 5 stars The best romance I've read for a while!, September 10, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: The Bride Wore Blue (Nothern Lights Bride) (Silhouette Desire, No 1012) (Paperback)
I found this book at a used book store, and I didn't realize it was out of print. It is the best "cheesy romance" novel I've read in a long time, and I read about one a day.

I absolutely laughed my way through it. The story makes sense, and while I'm not normally impressed by blond men, I found myself adoring the hero of the book, J.D "Blue" Hazzard. Some of the best humor is at the end of the book, but you've got to read the book to find out!

Ms. Gerard is rapidly becoming one of my favorite authors. I've read other books of her's and liked all of them.

I thoroughly enjoyed this story. I loved the way Blue managed to get through to Maggie that he is not like her ex. He was kind & tender with her. The total opposite of what she had experienced in her life.

Maggie has never experienced anyone like Blue. Even though they have known each other for over 15 years from when they were teenagers. The years in between has tought Maggie to be distrustful of men.

All Maggie needs to learn is trust...

Next in the trilogy is "A bride for Abel Greene".

I loved his charachter in this book & can't wait to read his story.
