5.0 out of 5 stars Stays with my planning stuff at all times
I'm a Maid Of Honor later this year and this book totally gave me ideas/new twists and brought up things I hadn't thought about. As a long distance MOH, the travel tips and hints were great too. I totally had no idea about some of the extra responsiblities in the reception! Yay for this book!

I bought this book for my style savvy bridesmaid, not for its information... It's not badly written, it's very simple and to the point and, honestly, the typeface and graphic design are what caught my eye. It's very basic and very easy to read and refer to, a good choice for a first time bridesmaid.... probably the one who hasn't really put a lot of thought into what goes into being a wedding in general.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cute, fun, helpful, April 14, 2008

This review is from: The Bridesmaid Handbook (Hardcover)
I got this book first to find out what the attendants' roles generally are, and thought it was so fun and helpful and to the point that I bought copies of it for each of my bridesmaids. Some of the info was obvious to me, and some I had no idea. If you've been a bridesmaid before, you may already know some of this stuff, but it would certainly be a fun refresher. For those completely in the dark, this is a great, quick read with all the pertinent info included.

4.0 out of 5 stars GREAT GUIDE, November 10, 2009
This review is from: The Bridesmaid Handbook (Hardcover)
I bought this book for my Bridesmaids after reading a friends copy. I thought that it made a great gift to start off the wedding events. Most of my girls were not first timers but were a part of very unorganized weddings and were asking me a million questions about their roll. They all agreed that it made for a great reference but not an absolute guide. It is really a take what you want from it book and you can use as little or as much advise as you want.

I gave this book to my three 'maids so that we were all on the same page, and to give them (they're all first-timers) some guidance. The book is short, so it's not a big burden to ask them to read it. Plus, I love the practical etiquette points...It will help keep my girls in line without my having to be the one nagging at them (I hope). It's suitable for regular bridesmaids and the maid of honor--there are extra parts in each section elaborating on the MOH duties.

4.0 out of 5 stars New Bridesmaid - "The Bridesmaid Handbook", January 17, 2011
This review is from: The Bridesmaid Handbook (Hardcover)
I have only been a bridesmaid once before, and only as a child. Even then, I did not really have many duties except to look cute. I was relieved, then, when one of my best friends, who is getting married, handed me this book as a gift for being one of her bridesmaids.

The book is not overly witty or funny, although it does have lines and moments. Instead, it gives good guidelines and run-downs of the duties of a bridesmaid (even having sections for the Maid/Matron of Honor) from the acceptance of bridesmaid role to the parties and practice dinners to the ceremony itself and the reception. This even helped me get over the idea, or at least better accept the idea, of a bright orange bridesmaid dress (no kidding - it is going to be orange!).

This one is a must if you are a first-timer and/or need a guide for all of the duties and activities expected!

5.0 out of 5 stars gave to my bridesmaids, October 19, 2010
This review is from: The Bridesmaid Handbook (Hardcover)
Bought a copy of this one to give to my maid of honor and she and the bridesmaids loved it! Two of them ended up buying their own copies because they liked it so much.
I know they said they especially liked the section on planning the bridal shower- gave them some really fun, refreshing ideas that they hadn't yet thought of.
While I have not yet been a bridesmaid, I know it can be a very time consuming process that requires lots of hard work. This book has helped my bridesmaids immensely and i was thrilled to hear how helpful they really found it to be. Awesome book!
Great gift idea too.

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I bought this as a way to formally ask each of my bridesmaids to be in my wedding. It was cute and the tips are generally helpful. I'm not sure how seriously anyone will read this, but it certainly makes a cute gift.
